need to farm tokens to buy item for random item, hoping you will get Lamented Crusader piece
you need to have 2,8 kk gold for 1400 Phylacterweave + another ingredients
you need to find another person who obtained Feat of Strength Drop Dead, Gorgeous or done it yourself in the past
really blizzard? i guess you really want people to buy that tokens and enchange it for gold. What a joke, tedious, no fun chore that you really cant do it on your own.
Its quite steep and yeah it does look like a money grab via wow tokens, would have prefered T3 to be obtained through BOP items and made to feel like it was well earned by the character you do it on.
I think it’s great the way it is. Ions reasoning in the latest interview is sound. These sets took a significant investment for many players to get and he doesn’t want to devalue that.
I love that they did not just throw this up on the Trading Post or gave it away to players. They actually invested some time and created cool and nostalgic content around it.
It’s 200 Euro. There’s nothing more to it. No achievement, no investment, no memory, no experience, just a cash amount of 200 Euro that you send to bobby for a transmog. You effectively buy a premium transmog in the store.
If I designed this, I would have scaled Naxxramas to 70 for a 40 man raid and put a drop chance of 0.5% on the last boss for the ensemble of your class.
I’ve spent about 3 million gold on shaman t3. Shaman t3 is one of the less expensive ones.
2.8 million gold for sets such as warlock, mage, warrior, or other similarly expensive t3 sets is incredibly cheap in comparison. It’s a good price compared to the bmah prices.
Pls explain how this is not “easy”. It’s real life money. You can for example just have inherited it and swipe. You can also just have a good job, and buy it, as if it’s nothing. You can eat crap for 3 weeks and save 200 euro by saving 10 bucks a day, if you are poor. There is literally nothing special about tier 3 now, because it’s tied now to real life, and I won’t care now about tier 3. It will just be another shop transmog in my book.
Yes there is, it’s called prestige and people love it.
As to your other question, apart from money, rng is involved as well. So yeah, you can’t just pay and get the set. There’s more work involved to it.
If that’s the case, has there ever been anything special about t3? Anybody could’ve bought gold and bought the pieces from the bmah. Boost communities even sold services to get you t3 within a few days back in BFA.
BMAH = Lots of gold
This method = a decent amount of work and a fair bit less gold for most sets
It’s exactly the same, except that you’re not reliant on that last setpiece that you’re missing showing up in the bmah after 6 months of checking daily.
I got my sets back in MoP. Took months for everything to show up on the BMAH - had to bid very high on certain items because of competition, log in to check every day, even on different servers.
This is all about making it more accessible to obtain, without the server-hopping and bid war nonsense, whilst not completely making the sets meaningless by handing them out.
Now people can actually work towards these as a long-term goal, which is amazing evergreen content.
The fact that you can only make gold by swiping your card is not my problem.
The gold requirement is, by my standard, too high.
But I guess it gives people something to farm for as it SHOULD NOT be going away again, as far as I know.
So- eventually, even if you spend 0 on tokens, you will afford it; sooner or later depending on how/what you farm etc.
