This character has 40 Renown with the Necrolords, and has Rank 5 Abomination factory unlocked.
I have done about 50 world quests in Maldraxxus with Unity as active Abomination companion, not a single Duty-Bound transmog piece dropped.
I have killed Tahonta about 10 times with Neena as active Abomination companion, still no mount.
Is this intended behaviour?
This is correct, the mount is a rare drop intended to be farmed.
The transmog appears to be RNG drops too, guess you’re just getting extra unlucky right now.
I got the Tahonta mount but it took over a month. Also I’ve done a bunch of Maldraxxus world quests with unity out and gotten one piece of transmog. So yeah both are pretty low chance.
Wait you need certain abomination for the mount to drop? So my 100+ kills have been for nothing?
Yes.
It’ll only drop if you have Neena actively with you, which also requires level 3 of the factory.

Well, on the bright side you don’t have to do that anymore lol.
Yeah! Glad I found out now and not later 
just got my abo factory to lvl 2 though so I can continue the farm on one character at least.
