Just a heads up if you haven’t already heard. Gallywix, the boosting guild, and anyone involved with them, are receiving punishments for real money trading. If you do boost, make sure the people you do through only accept gold or you could find yourself in some hot water.
Of course it had to be “Gallywix”, those greedy goblins.

This feels like a gross simplification of things.
I know people that boost in gallywix, their input is literally to put their name forward to run a key and they get a cut of gold for it.
If theres RMT in that organisation its not the rank and file boosters doing it, it will be people in positions of power in the organisation doing something shady like bulk selling gold to people who sell it for RL cash for a cut.

You’re most likely right. Much like WoW itself, you’d probably find it’s the higher-ups that make the decisions that we don’t like, where the developers themselves would like to do something for the player instead. Yet it’s the devs that always get blamed.
I feel bad for the legit boosters in Gallywix, who were probably unknowingly boosting people for real money while the management reeled in the cash, then got banned for it. That’s why I say be careful who you deal with. I’d hate to see anyone’s accounts unfairly taken away.

Them boosting sites are actually useful. I use them to find achievements/mounts to unlock. If it’s cheap, then I know it shouldn’t take me long to do. If they are expensive, then I know not to waste my time xD

It’s obvious that people organizing and running those boost communities do it for real money. Blizzard can safely ban all top ranks of every single boost spamming community right away.

Does that mean that everyone who were boosting in gallywix org will get ban or just dudes who were rmting org gold

and have banned accounts in North America and Europe that were associated with this group and taking part in the real money trading transactions.
From what it sounds like, just people taking part in the RMT. I’m not actually sure how they get that information, though. Like, do they just ban anyone who ran with them but did not trade gold? O.o
Guilty until proven innocent. You’re normally more sensible than this.

Just like lion isn’t guilty of murder untill proven otherwise.
There is no any other reason to run boosting communitiy.

I asked a dude from gally yesterday for price of ny’alotha allseer and he said 3 mil, it would be so sad if he got on that list too

Thats so closed minded as to be laughable.
Why do people want to dominate the AH on their realms? The only possible reason must be RMT! Ban them all.
What a joke.

That’s just leftist mindset. Let’s ban all who is better than me!
This tbh. If blizz wants to go there, better find real corrupt organizers aka rotten apple and not shame whole gold boosters community

Personally I am very happy with these news. Frankly, I would be more than happy if these communities got banned/muted purely for the amount of spam they generate everywhere.
That’s exactly what I called it. When poor peasants unite to celebrate the collapse of big business and demand all heads to roll cause one of the business partner was breaking law.
I feel sorry for the normal players who got their reputations destoyed by these events.
Agree with this , this is a good thing and I hope these other “so called communities” follow suit and get actions taken agaisnt them.
