Talent Pages

Why can I only have dual-spec? Why cant I buy more pages. I already spend plenty of gold respeccing its just the amount of time that goes to waste every time. Make it available so I can buy multiple talent pages. I need atleast 2 more. Letsgo.

I think retail is for you. Wotlk did only have two options, hence the name: dual spec.

Missed the part where Wotlk had wow token and heroic++ but okay!
Must’ve been nostalgia goggles!

Just because some retail features got added does not mean they need to add all of them.

Yes obviously but using the justification that wotlk “only had” is obviously out the window.

Is there a downside to people having more than 2 talent pages btw?

People rolling for loot designed for all specs just because they can switch to any of them at a moment’s notice?
It would make sense if loot was restricted to your current spec like with retail’s personal loot, but not now.
And of course, since it requires personal loot, which is a separate retail feature, to function correctly it would enable a slippery slope effect, where people would be asking for personal loot, and once that is added they’d be asking for seals of fate, and once those are added they’d be asking for retail pets/mounts from bosses and once those are added… etc.

What is this thing?

GDKP solves this, even SR runs also works. SR>MS>OS. Besides, lets not pretend like this would open a world of new problems. Theres 3 classes that can have multiple speccs afaik.

Who runs a raid where you can roll for OS on the same prio as MS? Thats just bad management.

Yes, it is a slippery slope.
NO TO PERSONAL LOOT (not raging, just stating my oppinion incase blizz shows up:P)

Oh no please don’t. I like to tell people aaaww no I don’t have tank os my os isi pvp although its a lie I tank dgs when there isn’t any around but I despise tanking

That’s not really valid reason.
What exactly is the difference between rolling for OS for 2nd talent page and rolling for OS for 3rd talent page?

As long as you announce that you are rolling for OS and nobody need the item for their MS, there is no issue at all.

Classic becoming more of a tard fest every min. Can’t say people didnt know, it was all predicted by players who left a long time ago, much like how the slippery slope argument was laughed at.

RIP Classic, wont be missed.

Leaving the game because couldn’t progress with raids getting slightly more difficult than “Go out of the fire, Joe!” aren’t we?

Pretty sure it had more to do with introduction of never before seen mounts, toys and other rewards for buying subscriptions, layers, payed boosts, same faction BGs, restrictions to emotes, restrictions to dungeons/AoE, billions of bots, heavy nerfs and skips to previous attunements and raids every new phase, introduction of quest/dungeon reward badges that screwed professions, random FCT bugs, tokens and everything else that little by little turned Classic into the very same thing people wanted to escape back in the days.

Not to mention a minority, atleast at first, that came to Classic not even knowing why it was introduced in the first place, asking of it to become Retail from Day 1.

But sure, we can pretend it was how “difficult” the 1 hour raid each Wednesday was.

Im fairly sure there is a addon that can save multiple talent layouts for you already just get that if the only thing that bothers you about not having more specs, you would still have to go to town and get to a trainer though to use it but it will save you time of setting up your talents and re keybind things

The worst take ever.

Thanks for the replies.
Firstly i want to say that I did not know multiple specs was a thing in retail. I haven’t logged on there since, wod, I think? I lost track of the expansions a long time ago.
I like wow classic, its a nostalgic thing for me and The fact that only 2 specs was a thing back in vanilla wotlk is of no concern to me and my opinion is that WOTLK is the last true wow expansion. Cata was ok but thats when the whole “its no fair only druids can have raven lord mount”.

I think of multiple spec pages to be a quality of life change.
Something like being able to summon with meeting stones?
30 min cd on HS instead of the old 1h?
…Epic mounts? Why did you buy an epic mount?

Having multiple talent pages would probably change some aspects of loot distribution but most of us already have offspec gear piled up anyway so I don’t really see that as an valid arguement.

I play a paladin. I raid current content as a tank. Thats a Pve tanking spec. My offspec is ret and sometimes I like to play some arena games. For this i have to respec, There is an prot pve spec, prot pvp, retri pve, retri pvp, preg pvp arena spec, I really want to get more into healing as holy especially in arena. I want to play my character as I like to. But in order to do so I have to spend an abnormal time and effort constantly respeccing. That hinders me from doing the things I want to, because it takes away my time. Time I could spend actually playing.

I also play a druid. Balance and resto. Pve and pvp. Like we have Dual-Spec. As the name suggests and someone replying here earlier pointed out. Dual. Why then did blizzard just not stick to the good old 1 spec only? Why did they feel the need to add a Dual one? ok… Then why not 3? or maybe so I can change my talents without running to a trainer and unlearn every skill.

How about, “unlock talents” we could change what we wanna, then click lock talent selection and keep on playing?

There are plenty of solutions here without affecting the gameplay. Its not cutting corners, its saving time. Remember the 60% flying mount? why did you not like it?

I most definetly do not want everything at my feet with no effort. Then I would just log back into World of WAScraft Retail and mount some auction house dinosaur collecting mounts with you guy.

Multiple talent pages so I can spend more time playing and less time wasting.
Letsago.

Yes. There were legitimate arguments against dual-spec as a whole back in TBCC. Personally I dislike dual-spec, but not to such an extent that I’ll wave my wallet around and threaten to unsub.

My reason for disliking dual-spec is that I view it to be anti-roleplay. In traditional roleplaying games you are stuck with your specialisation. The way you build your character is very much part of the intended experience, and being able to respecialise on a whim would have a negative impact on the overall experience.

Of course, digital games are different from tabletop games, and respecialisation is a feature that has been introduced in single player RPGs as well. I’ll chalk it down to being a necessary evil. Some manner of respecialisation should exist, but it shouldn’t be convenient. If your character can play any role at any time it makes them less distinct than if you pick one spec.

Aside from the RP-argument, I also feel like the request the OP makes would have a very negative side-effect on how the game is played. For instance, I main assassination rogue in Classic. I could create any number of specs that are good depending on each encounter. For instance, if there’s just one big mob then I’ll go full assassination. If there’s a boss like the Twin Valkyries I can swap spec so I have Blade Flurry. I can make a specialisation to optimize my DPS for each and every encounter. Some people might think that that sounds fun – and that’s fair, but I am of the opposite opinion. I like specialising my character and playing around my strengths and weaknesses.

You met someone who will not roll for an offspec item because they don’t currently have it set up as offspec in 2nd talent tab?

So far the people I’ve pugged with would always ask first, and even on a per-item basis rather than in general for the whole dungeon.
