Talent tree choosing abilities

Shouldn’t the talent tree be just about abilities, and not about character enhancements like crit, haste etc?

Nah, that’s boring - that’s why they changed away from that to begin with…

If the talent tree was all spells, we’d have a LOT of spells, and I imagine it’d be even more fun for Blizzard to try and balance.

Plus some of the passives aren’t bad, why not make a spell more exciting through talents?

There should be more ‘either-or’ selections giving specific paths that build into a truly unique build. Talents and skills should also be reflective of your characters personality, history, blood line etc so the resultant class could have many variants. Kinda more evil maybe or more forgiving, less truthful and more devious. They could have some real fun with talents and mix in armor sets and weapons so giving unique appearance depending on your choices.

One thing I like about other games is character building and stuff like being a dark version that involves a series of differing routes/quests through the game. Sadly WoW had all this at its birth but gave it all up when they removed specialist skills and training etc. But hey, thankfully other games picked up the ideas and still do this kinda thing so there are options in terms of games to play.

I think talent trees are a good sign the game is trying. Still a very shallow pool to play in but hey at least its something.
