Probably someone has already asked before (if yes, feel free to link it), but I’d like to ask anyway: how are we doing in mythic + pugs (up to probably 10 keys, I’m not really a hard core person) and basic raiding? I know we have decent damage and speed that can help, lots of aoe abilities, but just in general: how bad or decent are we?
Ps: I don’t like tanking with any other classes (I tried all of them, this is the only I actually enjoy)
The thing I like about VDHs is that they can unload a ton of threat up front, they’re very tanky while their defensives are up, and they can jump the heck away when they’re not. They also bring great utility with an AoE silence (sigil of silence), an AoE fear (sigil of misery), targeted AoE ground effect (sigil of flame), and the unparalelled Sigil of Chains, to group up mobs (and stop or interrupt them, too).
I go by icy veins and they say it’s a really good talent - situational mostly but can be really good! Although I need to look up for rotation and such as there are so many buttons I can smash during a dungeon…
The other thing that bothers me slightly is the lack of shield. Feels a bit naked, but as far as I know the night elf racial gives a slight advantage for this the rest I assume comes from stats
There are only two tanks in the game with a shield: warrior and paladin. There are more tanks without: DH, Bear, DK, Monk. Don’t be bothered by the lack of a shield, the majority of tanks don’t have one.
I know how you feel hehe. I have never really managed to get into tanking, and always found healing much more fun, but that DH tanking… Probably the first time I’ll give tanking a serious go.
That being said, I have tanked with plenty other classes and compared to them DH feels a lot better to me. I primarily tanked as DK, Pally, and Druid before picking up DH, and DH just seem a lot better at surviving. But that might just be wishful thinking hehe .
