Tank for pugs m+

I’m a returning player and wondering what the best pug tanks these days are for m+ or even raids pugging ? It used to be BDK, maybe still is, but I’ve always hated how sluggish they are.

I heard VDH dominated the scene in DF but then I also see healers complain about having to heal the tank.

 i would pick BDK because i don’t truust players in pug at all…

Prot warrior is very tanky right now, won’t need much healing. Guardian has extra utility at the expense of being weaker to magic. In the end it has to be fun for you though.

Prot Warrior
VDH
BDK

I have a feeling Prot Pally will get some big love in the coming seasons. Brewmaster, never played it and not really liked the Monk class, so I stayed away from it. Guardian Druid is a good tank I imagine, but I tried Guardians, but just never really enjoyed it.

The only thing they need is complete rework.

Most pugging guardian druids are absolutely awful(<50% ironfur uptime) at the game and many will randomly leave bear form to instadie and then go “???”.

As a happy Prot Warrior myself, can confirm that we’re a fun pick for most groups.
Some encounters tend to be spicey, but with a team that talks, coordinates and interupts things properly, tanking as Prot can be really fun.

In DF the Wowhead guide was saying to use Raze instead of Ironfur. Maybe people haven’t read a new guide yet.

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone, have you never accidentally come out of Bear Form and got oneshot?

:dracthyr_sweat: people leave druid forms?

Druids I’m finding are basically un killable unless they miss a cd lol, dks just out heals everything, vdh are hit or miss most are badly played. Warriors good all rounder

Rage generation is awefull for guardian druids right now so ironfur uptime is a (insert word here) to maintain. And if our instant cast regrowth procs we need to use it, because if we are one millisecond to late, it cancels bearform and we start casting…

It’s because in DF we really didn’t have to worry about using things like Ignore Pain, Ironfur etc, because we had such a high self sustain, which resulted in healers being able to do a lot of DPS in those encounters.

Now we take more dmg, don’t self-heal as well (apart from BDK), so now we’re more focused on keeping up those defensives at a high uptime. I know it took me a while to readjust xD

I pugged my way to ksm as prot warrior this season, and I don’t recommend it. The reason is that people don’t use interrupt enough, so it’s hard to group up mobs. I recommend Blood DK, and Prot Paladin for pugging.

However, in terms of ease to play, Guardian Druid and Prot Warrior are definitely the most chill classes to play as a tank. Someone gave me the tip to bind Ignore pain/iron fur on mousewheel, and since then it’s way more relaxed.

This only happend if you play dream of cenarius and you not tracking your proc…
becasue when you press regrowth while dream of cenarius it will do it in bear…
but if you do it without proc you gonna be out of your form
I had few people making this mistake

Ahhh is this the problem! This happend to me I had a proc I thought I clicked then all of a sudden I’m not in bear form lol

I play all tankers!!!

I BECAME TANKER THE DESTROYER OF PUGS!!!

For the love of Thrall pick anything but BDK. It’s impossible to heal them.

pugs and M+ don’t mix well m8 stay out of it unless you can grow a real thick skin real fast, do it whit friends.

Yeah they heal themselves mostly thats kinda the point of a BDK…leaving u more time to heal the dps

Dont u dare pick Paladin for tanking. It`s a joke!
Cand even call it a tank this season. Ridiculouse !!
