Tank rogues?!

A ranged rogue makes more sense. It just feels like a step in the wrong direction for rogues and their fantasy.

Nothing wrong with their fantasy, even Baldurs Gate 3 supports “Multi classes”.

BG is from D&D ruleset
multiclass was always a major part of D&D

And you think Warcraft should have limitation to fantasy and stricter rules in comparison to D&D?
This is hilarious.

As a rogue Blademaster I have to disagree, this is excellent.

I hope Miror Image as a future rune, just like the priest gets with Homonculi
(also a tank rune-spec for Shadow Priest would be insane)

Rogues with Bucklers were at one point part of the design, but got scrapped, so I wonder if rogues will be able to wield an shield in SoD.

Lets remove Evasion too, because the direction has always been too defensive and tanky fantasy.

At what point did I say to the contrary?

Judging by the fact that one of the attacks for tank rogue is off-hand attack ‘main-gauche’, and a lot of their mitigation is increasing parry chance, I suspect the fantasy they are going for is a swashbuckler or a duelist with a parrying dagger.

In short, probably no shield.

In the WoW alpha, rogues could use shields called “bucklers”. So i am fine with it.

Cheers

I still wonder how those non plate classes will do endgame.
I mean Patches hits like a truck on a plate character with a shield. That would mean a rogue would have to be able to not sustain a hit, or get oneshot probably.
I’m not sure these new tank classes will ever be endgame raid tanks.
If they end up being able to dodge tank the whole fight, then they just broke the game right there.

It is a choice so what does it matter?

Rogues are already ranged in SoD with 2 runes

Now we need to put warrior tanks to shame at max level as well.
