Tanks should be Kyrian or Necrolord right?

From the information I see it seems that tanks should basically be Kyrian or Nekrolord in terms of efficiency - is this correct ?

I will play all 6 tank classes and was planning to have Kyrian for paladin warrior and Druid and necrolord for Monk DK and demon hunter.

What do you think of this ?

Just play whichever Covenant you like. Unless you’re pushing for very high keys, or top 100 raid kills, it won’t matter much.

Don’t know where you’re getting this information from.

it comes down to soulbinds too and what they can offer in each of their covenents.
It’s still impossible to say which is “best” and “worst” because until it’s live everything is subject to change and balancing.

I don’t care what covenant ppl pick, what talents they use or whatever.
All I see when forming groups is ilvl and spec, rest is for specific raid encounters pushing world records etc. Are you pushing for world records?

99.999% of players are casuals so stressing over covenants doesn’t matter
Unless you’re a pvp’er then you can stress over that stuff

If u take in note only their signature abilities, then yes from tank pov healing pot/shield is best. But thats purely for “tanking” deathgate from venthyr is gona be used a lot, and its gona have niche uses with more value than healing pot from kyrian. Same to night fea and their fox. Just look at DK, u would think they go necro for that masive shield but they play nigh fea because of stronger DnD.

There is so many choices and ao many stuff deciding whats better, and there isnt and most likely wont be a “all from role X plays covenant ABC because thats how it works”

It’s a sin to not choose Nightfae if you are a druid!

Night fae as prot warrior looks good

It’s not that cut and dry.

It depends on the class. and above all else, soulbinds.

The Kyrian potion is certainly a strong argument to roll with them as tank, because it counters Necrotic so hard. Remove the stacks and become immune to more stacks for 15 sec (with Kleia).

Necrolord signature ability seems like one of the worst for tanks. If you’re channeling you can’t block or parry, and up to 50% (20% in raids) more “health” every 2 minutes isn’t that impactful when go through a lot of damage and healing.

I’d rather have Kyrian extra healing potion or Night Fae mobility.

Necrolord seems like the go to in a lot of cases.

Cheat death, passive thorns, 20% hp shield. Wich all seem tailored to tanks, but then again it depends on the ability.

For Druids, Necrolords and Night Fae seem like the only viable options, simply due to how atrociously bad the Kyrian & Venthyr class abilities are.

Gonna lvl all 6 classes, and just pick a covenant i feel comfortable with based on the class.

All the min-maxing is for the world top players i believe.
My own choices will do for my 15s - 20s keys ill run on my char(s)

Thanks for this info it is very useful.

So I guess I’ll make a necro DK and a Kyrian paladin (which makes sense lorewise) and see for the others

My warrior who i sometimes tank with will be vampyr cause I like to condemn
For paladin I would go balanced necroplebs, kyrians look like m+ heavy pick.
For DH vampyr cause mark is op in pve or may be Kyrian just for m+
For DK vampyr(aoe) or Kyrian (st)
For druid and monk I would go watch some anime instead, I seriously tried to play them but it’s not my thing :zipper_mouth_face:

and this is why the covenant abilities are a bad idea.
People feel they have to pick them based on gameplay even if it is for a tiny benefit.

I am disappointed at the community for giving Blizzard quarter on that issue

I don’t think this is accurate

People defiantly do care about talents and more in pug environments, it’s just just hardcore players. I assure you. I think it’s mental people think you have to do a mythic raid for this to matter

Convenants are uptoo a 40% DPS increase. They are a massive portion of your DPS

Currently as far as I understand there are massive imbalances between covenants. Until they are properly tuned so that they at least lie in the same ballpark it makes little sense to discuss which is better.

Anyway, right now for Blood DK the best covenant seems to be Night Fae…

Unless they never get to being in the same ballpark

Yes… that’s what I’m afraid could happen.
