TARGET DUMMIES IN SoD PLEASE!

Would be great if we have Target Dummies in every major city in Season Of Discovery! Ofcourse they cannot give you an accurate number of dmg because you will lack the raid buffs and the raid synergies that are usually present when you raid, but still better than testing new runes/spells on mobs, which is impossible!

Play retail if you care so much about parses

Allow them to give weapon skill too.

I bet you’re one of those that don’t understand that DPS is a part of fight mechanics. A group with high DPS will have a much easier time than a low DPS group. Always was.
Get your DPS up, you lazy bum

Also tell us, oh wise one, what should we care about? I understand that there’s an allowed-to-care-about list somewhere. What mIRC channel do I need to join to find this?

Target dummies have practically zero impact on DPS.
Classic is a 3 spell game with WAs to tell you what to press next, and sims to tell you what gear is/will be better. He likely just wants to practice his rotation because he’s a dusted boomer. They’ve already added so much nonsense that this may as well be added too.

Aggrend already replied to that same question (saldy yet again) on twitter:

Unlikely, no. We aren’t looking to hasten the “solving” of the game each phase. We were still seeing new tech and builds pop up at level 25 even weeks into the phase and we think that’s a good thing.

Is what he said about target dummies

Why OP? You can’t seem to use your caps lock key so how do you expect to use a dummy?

Guys, I’ve started using chatgpt for this. It will take in consideration all the information you will provide. You won’t need to spend time pumping your rotations, it just works.

Even that I would love target dummies, there’s no real reason to add them in-game, let me explain:

Classic PvE progress is not even a thing; people clear raids while undergeared compared to the BiS gear, everything is super farmable and there’s no real reason to min-max.

That’s sad tho. I am in a guild that is self-proclamed “semi-hardcore” when, i’d say only 20% of the raiders to care about parses or logs (which makes it not semi hardcore at all lol). I have spent alot of time arguing with guildies how healthy is to use parses and warcraftlogs to analyze mistakes and improve as an individual player, and as a guild.

However, I’m slowly giving up due to the absurd fact that is wanting to minmax in a game that doesen’t require a minimum knowledge to be beaten.

So, due to all of the points above, the reality is that target dummies would be a nonsense in classic. Personally, I’d love to see a little change towards difficulty, where target dummies could be required to improve and perform, but that’s the point; “if you want to minmax”, go to retail, which is sad, but sort of true…

Cheers.

Right here is the number 1 dumbest comment last 7 days!
If you think that there are not enough sweatlords with or without training dummy ur delusional.
Training dummy is not just about parses u can test new rotations and abilities and proper synergy of spells even for pvp not just dumb warcraft logs…training dummy can only be plus. Every negative thing you can think about it is already in game.
With or without training dummies pvers in general like to min max buffs, builds, consumables and so on and they perform speed runs and all kind of internal raid competitions anyway so your idea where training dummy is bad for the game is absolutely wrong.

I’d love some training dummies just to test stuff out. It is hard to really get a feel for abilities when mobs die in a few seconds.
Example I’d like to test my druids Rake ability and compare it to Mangle to see if it is even worth using. I’m 99% certain it is a dps loss to use Rake but I’d still like to be able to try it out for a few minutes and compare the numbers.

But I also get the argument for not adding them to SoD. So I can go either way. Once we get to level 60 it is a moot point though as we can go to Blasted Lands and hit Servants of Razelikh for an eternity.

And thats a W move from blizz. SOD has only been W for blizz decisions. People will complain about everything, but if blizz stands their ground and keep up with the secrecy they doing rn, SoD will be the best thing since classic launch

Personally i havn’t found any sim for sod.

aggrend doesnt get it then.SoD makes new builds viable and testing weird combos and builds fully, mapping their performances is very much part of the exploration of this season.
doing it in raids might mean ure underperforming or making mistakes at the cost of the raidgrp. target dummys are more warranted in sod than in regular classic, as all that was mapped in the retailversions.

LFM BFD 7/7 exp cons fap preBiS, will inspect, meet at target dummy, achieve 150dps over 60 seconds or kick

(as a regular player you have enough content to check the rotation: dungeons, elites. there is little motivation to optimize entirely. hence I think the main point is further filtering of candidates)

anyone actually taking that leetist jerk up on that is embarrasing.
maybe to join a hardcore traidgrp as a raiding guildie. but a proper guild doesnt look at dps, thats a given. they look at movement, awareness and understanding of encountermechanics.

but u really dont. u have a plethora of incidentals going on, procs, buffs, debuffs, aso, scewing the testresult. so there is little value in it.
