The button seems to be doing something else than target the “nearest” enemy. It almost always targets enemies NOT nearest. IN case of emergencies like a blood dk wanting to deathstrike on edge of life this is extremely frustrating and costs me more than a few games…
This used to target neurtral targets aswell, not sure if it still does.
Wonder if this is just me or not …
I don’t if it’s rose-tinted glasses but it felt like tab-targetting worked better in ye olde days.
I don’t know how feasible it would be but having some options in the Interface Settings to set the angle of the area which targets can be found in. Maybe a tick box to allow / forbid Neutral targets. Some ways to tweak how tab-targetting works might allow us to be happier with it.
I started in legion, but when i play classic and use tab it would always target someone in melee range, while in retail it seems to be the other way around, maybe it was changed at some point?
Yeah.
Sucks when you want to use victory rush (impending victory) Just to stay alive for longer but you end up targrting the hunter in the back instead of the rogue or warrior that are in your melee range.
Its bugged, Actiblizzard kinda messed up somehow.
In tbc and vanilla normally target the closest target but on retail is messed.
it still does, and has done so for many expansions. They just will not fix it.
the targeting works through in a cycle, so not sure they could design it to target by “the nearest” …
nah its not just you, ive been screaming about tab targetting including neutral mobs for year and years.
It def worked better in the old days. In fact it used to auto target who or whatever was attacking you. They changed it sometime in WoD and its been frustrating ever since.
i remember the change itself annoyed me because of what i got used to, but i also hated the auto-target. im pretty it was possible to disable through the options (before the change), not sure though.
I wish there was something that did this now. The number of times I’m stuck in combat with red indicator around my nameplate showing something is attacking me but I look around and can’t see it. Would be great to do /target @Attacker or something…
