I, as many others, use TAB set to target nearest enemy.
My problem though is that it often tab around on enemies behind me and as a mele I often loose track or tab around like a madman to get an enemy infront of me.
There should be an option to set it to “Target nearest enemy “IN FRONT” of me”.
TAB targeting has been broken for a couple of expansions now, using it can actually be dangerous. Bu given for how long it’s been practically unusable, I doubt Blizzard will ever fix this.
Oh you poor, little, innocent souls. You don’t even understand how good we have it.
FF tab targetting is so…SOOOO much worse

actually it works if you have it on legacy and auto target is on nearest enemies instead of just auto target in ffxiv
