Targeted Corruptions and Faster Cloak Empowerment

Why is it with echoes of nyalotha? Just because i have all rank3 essences on my main that any of my alts could have i dont have 30k+ echoes that some people managed to gather since this resource was a thing.
30k echoes can be used to buy multiple corruptions come this goes live. People who didnt get those because they only play mains or some other reason are at a big disadvantage and weeks behind.

At least you could 0 everyones echoes come this change going live to make it more fair to people.

honestly it only applies to farmers.
I earned echos on my main but I didn’t really to emissarys and assaults much at all anymore and also bought all off spec essences so I am sitting now at 1500 echoes.

So yea but I agree some people might have 20k+

Leave it to the rage mob of WoW to find something to complain about in a change blizzard has made.

And you’d ponder why blizzard does not communicate that much with the player base anymore.

Note : I do agree, another currency or a reset to the echoes of Nya’lotha is a better choice, but it’s not the end of the world as people are making it.

This is the equivalent of lend a hand and they’ll take the whole arm.

I know some do because i heard it from people they do. They could buy 3+ corruptions. I will maybe able to buy one a week later.

It is not the end of the world but we have to let them know that it is wrong like this so they might change it before going live if at all possible. Because sure it doesnt matter on the long run but what is it if not annoying that your main character is unable to get any benefit while others could, just because they didnt bother with some essences on their mains.
It is highly frustrating and i did want to voice it at least even if nothing will happen.

Sure i will catch up to those people in a month but why is it a thing in the first place. Everyone instantly can see the problem but they cant?

So finally a system to let people target corruptions, and I have to wait for the correct week to buy the one I want? Why? Seriously, who comes up with these things?

Even if I have zero echos on my main, I don’t care. But at least let me buy the damn thing I want when I farmed the currency for it, instead of putting yet another “fun” twist on things.

I disagree.
They know fairly well what they are doing with their actions.
Players asks for things that will improve the game overall and IF blizz listens and implements the requested fix it is ALWAYS with a twist.

You want is? ok, here you have it - but now dance for me stupid monkey - laughs in evil

It is ok to grind a while for the things. It is not to implement yet ANOTHER STUPID RNG

Would be nice if we could get one r3 corruption per week. Oh well I’ll have to spam loads of +15s then.

Nobody really cares at this point, just release a new expansion and try to delete the word BFA from history of wow.

My main can’t even earn echoes, typical, so now I have to pray that the corruption I’m looking for doesn’t pop up till I have enough echoes, seemsgoodman

Honestly Blizzard, you guys don’t really know what to do anymore do you lol… you’ve lost complete and utter perspective on your own game and I can’t even bothered being angry anymore, guess you guys win ?

Every, single, time.

This is my main, not a single echo, even though I still don’t have all rank 3s and still don’t even have rank 1 of BotE ? What’s the deal there ?

Will our mains be retroactively rewarded with an amount eqaul to what we would have got if we had being earning them ?

Will this current design team be making meaningful decisions in Shadowlands and going forward ?

Also, putting the corruptions on different tables, for different assaults, at different ranks is f***ing cheeky as mate lol biggest bunch of chancers I have ever laid eyes on no harm to any of yas.

Also, tell yer man Kaivax over on the US forums to reply to meaningful questions that people have with their characters and nevermind the pishy wee happy go-lucky replies about alpacas and other nonsence lmao

So my main never earned any echoes, now gets inflated amounts of echoes.

However it will take me atleast a week or more to catch up to alts that where able to get ecjoes over the past months.

Just some math:
7 emissaries a week: 1750 echoes
Level 15 m+ key: 225 echoes
Weekly m+ cache (lvl 15) 1500 echoes
Full horrific vision clear: 750 echoes

And i could add the rest, although even by doin the above tasks on my main for 2 weeks straight, i am barely catching up to said alts.

Prices / gains got inflated to create an equal footing, but i fail to see how this even makes sense.

If you are so far ahead with stacked up echoes, but also increase the gains, there is no equal footing.

Should have:

  • Wiped Echoes as a currency
  • Implemented this right from the start when essences got changed
  • Implement another currency all together to make it “fair”

And aside from all the above, i just cant wait to save / grind my way to 12 or 15k echoes for a rank 3 corruption i want, to then loot the exact same corruption on the same item from my weekly m+ cache or after completing a 5 mask run.

Also, why is the catch up mechanic for the cloak (corruption resist after 15) bound to 2 upgrades a week and also split between horrific and Nzoth?
If i want to run 2x full horrific to upgrade my cloak why can’t i?

Or kill mythic and hc nZoth?

And why is the catch up on said resistance locked to 6 resistance per week? (Shouldnt it be a catch up to the most “recent” resist value, given you have the vessels to keep running horrific? Cloak ranks 1-15 come to mind)

And 1 other thing: why the rotation on the corruption vendor? What is the added benefit?
Is the vendor interface too small to house them all?

I dont see, why we need to have things like that on a rotation. It doesnt make any sense at all.

it took you more time to write this post than it would take you to farm that “UNFAIR AMOUNT” of 10k echoes your alts have.

I am not talking 10k echoes on alts.

More in the realm of 17-20k.
Also read the rest of the post, where i did some math, to explain how much work has to be done to catch up to those values.

Its there purely to bloat subscriptions. Chances are if you don’t have a bunch of echoes stacked up you won’t be able to make any by the time things like TD3 come in rotation so you’ll just have to pay for another month until what you need is in the vendor AND you can afford it. The decisions are awful but not stupid. Even blizzard knows that pretty much no part of the BFA experience is fun and simply giving you the corruptions won’t return a lot of people’s lack of desire to keep playing so they have to bait you into giving them your money.

The same goes for the prices - just another delay before you come to the realization that even with said corruptions your character still doesn’t feel good and you decide to give it a rest until SL.

Same for me, i m ww monk but i got all rank3 for heal and tank too befor Echoes came out,so i have 0 Echoes. So yeah i feel punished to have play the game a lot, having farm all those emissary, assaults, mythic+, visions ect but never got those Echoes for it… it feels very bad.

For all who whining about zero echo on their main - are u serious?

This system suppose to help alts or casual characters in their progress. There is was plenty of time after 8.3 start, all medium/hardcore players already got needed corruptions or, at least, major part of them. Who today, after so long time, cares about this?

I do. I consider myself medium - I clear 15s on 3 chars and kill the heroic nyalotha bosses I need loot from on 1-2 on a weekly basis. Scroll up a bit and you’ll see how well farming has worked out for the 3 characters I actually play.

If you really played as u typed and still dont have at least some needed for your spec corruptions - maybe you do something wrong. OR, you have corruptions - but why you care about others?

I do have corruptions - just not the right ones or in the right places. As I stated earlier I have to mess up my paladin’s secondary stats and use significantly lower ilvl items to balance out using corruptions. Loosing out on haste/vers feels pretty bad as a tank trust me. My druid got gushing wounds and IS3 on a ring and gloves which are corruptions I couldn’t care less about as guardian and they’re on items which have secondaries which would be preferable for balance, not even feral. My mage has seen some IS and TDs but 0 and I do mean 0 %mastery. The funniest one there was getting IS3 bracers as fire while having the mechagon ones.

My problem isn’t others having corruptions or easy access to them. My problem is that I don’t. Sure if I did it would only be fair for others who put in equal amounts of time to have equal access and that is how it should be.

The problem is the enormous amount of additional grind that comes with it i.e. 2-3 weeks of more grind than I already do (assuming the vendor has the corruption when I’ve got the currency) to add a corruption to an item I likely don’t even have yet since a lot of the items I’m currently using are either cleansed or already have some sort of corruption on them.

Literally the only upside I can see to this is that I won’t have to carry half a bag of corrupted gear to swap in case I get an upgrade since until they fix the non-corrupting cleansed items thing its basically useless.

My problem is that in my opinion (and judging by the comments on this thread I’m not alone on this) this is a bad way to fix a worse system which shouldn’t have even existed in the first place.

You will still earn Echo for every type activity in game. TD3, for example, not a big deal for 2 weeks (keep in mind, we will earn x5 echos more), and with good item. With RNG^2 we have now, it will take much more time, and there is was some % we will not have what we need at the end of addon.
