Senior Citizens – Heroic Guild – Tarren Mill:
Progress: 10/10 Sanctum of Domination - Heroic
Tired of balancing the strain of adult commitment with the stressful world of raiding and raging children? But still seek the satisfaction of killing some bosses, grabbing some loot, and contributing to a mature, progress minded raiding team along the way?
Well, the folks here at ‘Senior Citizens’ have ached, limped and crawled our way through another tier, and are looking to bolster our ranks with some fresh blood.
If you are looking for a place to call home amongst a group of likeminded individuals. Then read on, wipe your feet, and come in…. However, know that we expect all egos to be left firmly at the door when you do.
Who we are:
‘Senior Citizens’ was founded by three old friends knowing each other all the way back in Vanilla, raiding from WoW’s inception to the present-day. Throughout this journey, we have raided hardcore, casual, and everywhere in between, but we are not getting younger, and have “settled down” amongst friends while still enjoy some good fun raiding.
Our roster comes from all over Europe, but most of our members are from UK, Scandinavia, and North Western mainland Europe.
What defines our guild is its members, and most of our raiding team have now been together for at least 4 years, enjoying doing content together both inside and outside our official raid schedule.
Having raided together for so long, there is a comradery and togetherness and unlike modern wow guilds, there are no faceless members, we all have our own anecdotes, highs, and lows from years of raiding together, and we pride ourselves of being self-aware and understanding of each other’s strengths and weaknesses.
Will our Mage ninja pull the boss, Shammy die to an explosion and Healer forget to equip a weapon?.. Yes… but will they do it again… well, quite possibly… but the point is we will kill the boss and have a good time whilst doing so.
We are proud to be able to offer new trials the opportunity to make your own story amongst our tight-knit team.
What we do:
We are not going to raid mythic…period…if that is what you want, we forgive you for not reading further.
We want to clear Heroics “Ahead of the Curve” and go on to completing “Glory of the Raider” achievements for each raid that is released.
We are not obsessed with progression speed as long as we keep up with the pace of raids coming out, but do expect our raiders to hold a certain standard of play, where people are self-sustained and capable of preparing for raids both in terms of tactics, keeping gear in order with enchants and gems and bringing consumables (flasks, food, potions, oils etc.).
When we do it:
We raid on a relaxed 5-5½ hours/week schedule. Our raiding times are… (server time)
Wednesday: 20:15 to 22:45
Sunday: 20:15 to 22:45
We ask that people are on 10-15 minutes before so we can clear trash as the start time above indicates first boss pull. We might occasionally extend up to 15 minutes if a kill is imminent.
We expect that people wanting to raid with us are at a place in their lives where they can plan their time and be available these two nights with only very few missed raids for holidays or special commitments and are able to let us know ahead of time if this is the case.
We also understand that life brings with it many commitments with work, families etc. and respect that some people have more time to play outside of raiding days than others.
What we are looking for:
The reason for the longevity of our core roster is making sure we maintain a balance between consistent numbers, and a team of people with similar personalities, expectations, and ambitions.
Because of the nature of the guild, we are very careful when recruiting to make sure that first and foremost, the person behind the character is a good fit. To summarise the characteristics that we are looking for; we seek players who not only have the commitment and aptitude to succeed, but the personality and understanding to remain patient and have a laugh whilst doing so.
We want sociable and mature players like us that are well past being high maintenance. We as a team place higher value on effort, team play and patience, well above and beyond the ability to stroke your own ego on logs or gloat on a particularly good pull or play. We pride ourselves on building those around us up, as much as we push to try our best individually.
That being said, we do expect that everyone must carry their own weight for it to be enjoyable for all and would expect people to always try to play too the best of their ability and look to improve and adapt to help the team as needed. We would always look to help those who may be struggling, however with such a small roster, we are not in a position to carry those who may fall behind minimum expectations.
We typically look for players aged 30+ (Still making you one of the youngsters) but we would also open our home to good folks aged 25+ if they have already reached a mature place in their lives and share the guild ethos and mentality.
Loot:
Personal loot with a simple roll for items that are not needed and can be traded.
It is not uncommon for our raiders to have to be persuaded to take loot themselves ahead of offering it up to others.
Recruitment:
We are currently looking for the following roles/classes:
Tanks: None
Healers: None
Dps: Warlock, Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Balance Druid, Hunter, Shadow Priest,
Rogue, Elemental Shaman.
We value the attitude and ethos of the player higher than the class, so even if your class is not listed we will still evaluate if you as a player is right for us. We do however not recruit for raid spots in roles that are full.
Having raid logs to show that you can carry your weight in raids go a long way, but we can be flexible on that and give out trial without logs if we believe the person behind the PC is a good match for us.
We accept socials, mainly being friends of our raiders, who like what we aim to do and matches our profile even though they might not be able to commit to participation in the raid team so we can establish a nice and warm atmosphere.
It is important to point out, that the official raid nights will be reserved for those committed to the raid team, but beyond that any type of social activities, be it dungeons, off night raids etc. can include anyone with a viable character for the content being done.
If you can see yourself in such a place then contact us in game for a talk. Our first line of defense is Doomie or who you can send a friend request, or you can try and whisper online players in guild to check if an officer is around!
