I am thinking about changing my monk to a tauren, but I am unsure which variant I should go with.
I mainly play Brewmaster PvE and Mistwalker PvP, and I am wondering which of the two has the better racials for this purpose.
Tauren get more stamina, an AoE stun and 2% more crit damage/healing.
Highmountain Tauren get more Vers, an AoE charge-knockdown, and take less damage based on their stamina.
Right now it looks like Highmountain is way better (Vers for tanking, minor damage reduction for tanking and pvp, an extra movement CD for arenas) but I am interested in what others have found.
It’s a small detail and I am not the min-maxiest person around (I am just picking Tauren variants after all) but if one is clearly better then it’s worth it…
Really doesn’t matter, to be honest. Racials of both are pretty equal and generally have little impact. Take 1% versa and 2% crit damage,…flat damage increase vs crit damage…it’s more or less the same thing.
Just pick whatever you like visually or otherwise.
First off; good on you! If it wasn’t for Mag’har Orc, I’d have kept my Monk a Tauren!
Tauren have a bit more HP and receive a bit more Healing. They also a bit more crit damage I believe? War Stomp is great for cc without movement (for example boss fights or PvP where you’d rather not just dash out of attack range of your own victim!)
HM Tauren do give a bit more tankiness meaning that Stagger can be felt less rather than endured for long. That’s if you ever go Brewmaster. Bull Charge gives the obvious cc and a 4th mobility utility if you require a cc-engage tool though again, mind the displacement at point blank use!
That all said, it comes down to Horns vs Antlers. HM Tauren have tattoos and feathers and more rugged hair, but Tauren have still have their own charm!
