Tauren or orc shaman

Don’t know which one to make for my horde shaman.

Orc - seem brutish more suited to warriors but they have a lot of shaman rich lore and even being described as a shamanistic race

Tauren - They seem like they would suit with the totem structures, loving the earth, and the whole red Indian vibe they got going on, but they seem to hold their hunting in the highest regards.

I think I’m thinking on this too much and should just roll which I prefer the looks of, but they both have there pros to roll for looks imo :joy:

tough choice, both make excellent shamans imo.

i am biased and say go for tauren.

…or make both and go for different covenants. tauren get shoes for their hooves with necrolord and orc shamans really look great in the venthyr covenant armor for example

For me it’d be Orc.

Tauren’s have hooves, meaning foot transmog isn’t the best.
Shoulders tend to be huge!!
The smell of cow dung can be overpowering sometimes.

Orc. Go Orc.

Make one of each race and scroll through the appearance tab to see what your favorite sets look like on them.

For me I’d go Orc. I absolutely love Tauren but their model ruins too many sets.

Orcs are cooler.

But Altash is right; try both and see what works best for you. Conceptually both fit shaman well, so pick what you prefer.

Tauren

Because Mooo

Orc is generic ooga booga man

Tauren. More moo moo, less zug zug.

Tauren.

Remember it was the tauren whom nurtured the emerging fledging shamanism in Thralls new horde. People forget thrall being a shaman was an oddity at that point as Orcs didn’t “do” shamanism by and large until the new horde settled down, it was a fringe practice.

The tauren helped the orcs reconnect with nature and the spirits and rediscover their shamanistic potential. Tauren are THE consummate shaman race regarding the current horde and anyone who tells you otherwise is simply wrong.

Tauren been doing shamanism since early Yaungol first lived and interacted with Cenarius yonks ago.

Go tauren, obtain the heritage armour, pick a more tribal shield and 1h and you’re set

For covenant Tmogs go orc

You get a decent tauren shield mog In barrens quests I believe and good mace mog drop from trial of champion dungeon (or buy for argent marks) which is themed on cows.

Also a couple of the chunky axes that drop from ToT look really good used with this setup.i use these items on Hotahk here when I am wearing my HA and it looks super awesome.

Which one?

I can’t remember the name, there’s this long diamond shape shield which is a wooden frame with a hide tied over it, and on the hide are red painted tauren symbols. I’m pretty sure you get it in a barrens quest but can’t remember whether it’s north or south. It was a very long time ago I first unlocked it!

Found it. “Sternhorns Shield” from the quest “A Line in the Dirt” in southern barrens.

I suggest all tauren and HMT players pick it up as it is a brilliant shield that goes with their thematic and the appearance is quite unique despite the age of the item.

Visually I find Taurens awesome, but if you’re a min/max’er Orcs are the better choice for both the active dps racial and passive pet damage increase with Elementals and Spirit Wolves.

Not to mention miles ahead of Tauren if the OP decides to try out PvP at some point.

Yeah I’ve think I am deciding to go tauren. I like night fae armour on them as well.

Zandalari troll!

if you like pvp go orc

If you’re resto though tauren probably beat out Orcs due to Brawn and resto favouring crit (particularly in raids) plus passive HP. Brawn also scales very well into an expansion whereas the Orc racial doesn’t scale and remains flat and the pet damage is neglible for resto anyway.

I’d argue Brawn is far from useless for ele as well, especially as an expo goes on.

At the end of the day, the Sims have been done, races in PvE are within 1% of eachother so unless OP is aiming for absolute top of the game, they won’t see value from picking one race over another until they’re parsing 99 in BIS.

Zandalari of course

Otherwise Orc

Orc of course
Tauren is a walking hamburger
Do you want to be a walking hamburger?
I certainly do not
