TBC Classic Server Population!

So today me and some friends resubbed to wow and have noticed almost every server has either 100% alliance or 100% Horde.

What happened why is the average person such an idiot to go and play on one faction and completely ruin all the servers? The only server we can currently play on is Firemaw where the faction balance is in place and we cant get onto it because its locked.

Not sure whats worse the player base or the game devs for letting this happen. Literally just subbed and ready to unsub already. Pointless.

Funny you think they “let” it happen. They do not care one little bit about it. Only now that the realm is so huge that they have locked it.

Soon blizzard fanboys will be here saying “ OMG BLIZZARD IS NOT RESPONSIBLE THIS IS A PLAYER CREATED PROBLEM.

Have you looked at the PvE servers. They are in fact mostly as balanced as possible. I agree Blizz should have done something. But it is the players that make monofaction realms.

That’s a good point, and it’s kind of funny to think that PvE servers have a better faction balance than the PvP servers… now if only there was some sort of incentive to /pvp flag yourself on a PvE realm, like War Mode… imagine that.

Firemaw recently lost a couple thousand Horde players, I think it’s heading in the same direction personally. People don’t actually want to play on PVP servers when they realise they will get killed while at a disadvantage and then they leave when it happens too much.

A few leaving causes a snowball effect as the problem gets worse and some players just stop playing the game while others move elsewhere. Most of the other servers already died off and Firemaw like some unicorn managed to stay somewhat balanced, but it has been shifting more towards Alliance over time slowly, this recent action has seemed to trigger a shift in more Horde players leaving.

Firemaw is on borrowed time until season 3, aka WOTLK. It might end up a completely Alliance server.

Well your choice was to abandon game, others choose not to play in minority side of the server and transfered where they can be a majority. Blizzard took some action by locking biggest of Megarealms the Firemaw about 7 months too late.

There is other psychological effect here. Since Horde knows that there won’t be any new fresh blood on the server, because of transfers and new character creation (if you have none on the realm allready) lockout they do not hope that they would get reinforced to balance server out. This has started the ship jumping. By the time Blizzard unlocks Firemaw (if ever up to the end of Wrath/Classic project) there will be only leftovers of the Horde, just like it happened on many Horde dominated servers with Alliance.

Imagine I can - like a nightmare. Why do you think I choose a PvE server?

On the server I was on a lot of people quit during Nax eg and this caused an exodus of guilds that couldnt find decent new people to replace the ones they lost, and the bigger, more famous guilds poached players from lesser guilds until there was just a point that it was unfeasable to raid. It improved shortly with TBC release but when T5 content released the situation became dramatic, with raiding guilds reduced from over 10 to 5 in about 2 weeks. Our guild then did a vote to migrate and basicaly a flip of a coin decided where we went, that was Gehenas at that time a 45-55 server. So we contributed to the problem but from fun perspective we didn’t have a choice and it was the best thing we could have done and I would do it again

It will happen very quickly too. Server is locked, so no reinforcements, and free transfers to Golemagg may close any moment. I suspect there will be a tipping point sometime soon when thousands of Horde go to Golemagg in one week “while they still can”.

Personally my favorite type of server is one where you only flag yourself when you want to PvP. But that’s not really a thing in Classic. I mean you can do that on a PvE server, but there’s little or no incentive. That’s where War Mode comes into the picture. I think War Mode is an amazing idea.

It kinda is except it is not balanced at all. Horde fills Warmode layers pretty fast in an organised groups, but Alliance is scrapped from different realms. This led only to free bonuses to the Horde and no alternative than to turn off Warmode for Alliance.

The solution could be HvH (or AvA on servers like Earthshaker) Warmode. All thouse who speak so founded about wPvP should feel what is like to be hunted on every corner, not cover behind the majority.

I think Warmode is a horrible idea and one of the reasons I play Classic, where PvP is NOT a thing on the PvE servers, praise the Light.

Well I levelled with WM on as Alliance pre-SL launch and I got ganked like once, lol.

But it’s completely opt-in so I don’t know how it would even affect your experience at all.

If you need an incentive other than PvP to flag then you are flagging for the wrong reason.

There’s is plenty of WPvP to be had flagged on a PvE realm, and if you don’t want to PvP turn it off again. Best of both worlds.

People marked as PvP enabled, jumping into my AoE and the killing me. This sure affects me big time.

Does that actually work ?

Thinking …

Sounds like an opportunity for some fun
