Yeah it’s not that much of an issue outside arena. In bgs hunters can be powerful because of the high range, high damage and good cc they are really good in AV
Hunters be great dps throughout the entire expansion. Great solo class, too and decent in PvP when in da right hands.
Just remember to carry spare ammo/arrows and food for da pet and you’re good to go. Expect a huge amount of hunters in TBC.
Huh, i’ve read a few months ago it was gone.
That’s strange cause i assumed they just go with it from the start. I wonder if they will update it in a later phase
Dottie be right. Dead zone exists in TBC, but it has gone from 8 yards down to 5, or somet’ing dat makes it possible to use da melee weapon instead of standin’ there like a fool and watch as da frost mage shove ice and snow down ya throat.
faceplam.
The dead zone refers to the 3 yards between melee(within 5 yards) and ranged(outside of 8 yards). When your target is too far away to melee and too close to shoot at, they are in the dead zone. When Blizz moved the minimum shooting distance to 5 yards They Removed the dead zone. This is a very big buff in pvp.
And no, hunter melee is not close to useless. Hunters get 1 melee attack power from agi just like rogues on top of all the other attack power hunter gear gives. And importantly it also pushes back spell casting.
Well Done, Mr Pedantic. Melee sucks for Hunters so why would anyone use it on purpose? I explained exactly what I meant further down from my “dead zone” posts.
So I used the wrong words, so what. Too close for using your ranged weapon is still a thing.
It’s not about using melee on purpose. It’s about not having a dead zone to be exploited by druids and mages mostly. Which very much affects how viable they are in arena.
