TCG mounts on the Trading Post

Will Blizzard be bringing anymore TCG mounts to the Trading post?

I know lots of people would love to see TCG mounts such as the Magic Rooster, Spectral Tiger, Ghastly charger etc etc come to the Trading Post but this would be a very bad idea

Now before you flame me let me explain why. When TCG mounts were active and the TCG game was a thing people paid real money to get these cards, the reward if you were extremely lucky and opened thousands of packs, was a mount. That reward could be kept or traded in game, it was not BOP so Blizzard intended for you to be able to sell it on the AH. Some of the rare TCG fetched gold cap. So people paid a lot of gold for these mounts, 10 million. To make 10 million gold will have taken an obscene amount of time back in the day. People have paid for these mounts with real money or lots and lots of time farming gold. If you just give these away on the TP it completely diminishes the game.

Yeah I would love it if you just gave away rare mounts who wouldn’t, but imagine if they put the Swift Zulian Tiger on next months TP, yeah everyone would love it but then that mount becomes meaningless. People have spent 100’s of millions of gold on unclaimed black market containers just to try and get that mount. Imagine how the people who were lucky enough to have got it would feel? Probably quit wow and who would blame them. Those who got Gladiator mounts, same thing. So I don’t like Blizzard bringing back old mounts for the TP that were extremely rare in the day. Leave them to the people who earned them

There are 1000’s of mounts so what is the point upsetting people? Give away the store mounts if you need mounts to promote the TP but leave the old unobtainable mounts to history and don’t risk upsetting people, the only reason people want these old mounts is because the are rare, put them on the TP and you just killed that mount and upset a player base who have been loyal for a long time, is it worth it?

Doubt it. Isn’t Swift Spectral Tiger like 36 million gold right now?
Players pay and payed a lot of gold so don’t think Blizz will make them available on the Trading Post ever but I might be wrong, who knows.

Trading post mounts make no sense anyways.

99% of people buys them each month, but perhaps 0,03% of those people summon the mounts more than once.

Mounts that everyone has are fairly pointless.

Players yes. Which is why Blizzard can do what they want. BLizzard didn’t decide the value here, the players did. And Blizzard can utterly destroy that if they so please.

Its like Art its only worth what people will pay for it, it has no price tag
Everyone knows TCG mounts are valuable because they are impossible to get, if you bring them back its like giving everyone the Mona Lisa and then wondering why its not hanging in everyone’s house
Oh I see your have the Mona Lisa on your wall
yeah I have 3 of those in the garage

this is already the case for retail wow though, everything can be directly bought for real money and everyone will get everything you “earned” later for free from a twitch drop or trading post or the shop

Would stop people being scammed too.

Even those rares became worthless,or maybe its just me not caring anymore :disappointed:

Bigger driver here I think is that in reality, getting these stuff mostly only required one to be at the right place at the right time.

Since we are bringing in TCG stuff as an example: these cards were a limited supply and not really caught up on in most countries. This alone puts many people in a difficult position to get any. What choice do they have then? Third-party markets. Gg. It is valid tho, we do see it and accept it for other TCG today. Except, this messed up one was discountinued after a few years, leaving behind a limited quantity - the prices sky-rocketed
No one in their right mind could say it is OK for in-game items get caught up in such a limbo.
Fairly, all TCG item should have made into the successor game - Hearthstone. So people to this day would be able to ‘break’ packs and have a chance for these items to redeem in WoW.

That being said, don’t mix in here glad mounts, etc. TCG is a different dimension. TCG was never time-limited and never required skill and arguably dedication to get. Of course, there are exceptions in lengths taken, but mostly you really just had to be at the right place at the right time fairly. It is NOT good for such things to be not accessible anymore.

Epic is 90 mill
Rare is 50 mill

I can’t stop saying this.

  1. There should be no FOMO or time limited stuff. Everything should be available to players obtainable in-game whatever time they started playing.
  2. There should be no items, obtainable only with money. Definitely not in full-price games with subscription on top of that. Yeah, this includes gold too, because with introducing of token, gold = money and now everything in the game officially has a dollar price tag.

Until people keep defending these customer unfriendly practices, we will keep getting money grab games and content over and over again.

According to these principles, TCG mounts in Trading Post is a positive move, but late for around 10 years, should’ve been done long time ago. If folks believe, that Trading Post is too easy free way of getting stuff, Blizzard could implement some challenges, event, farm ways to get it.

the sad thing is to have 400 mounts but now im using just 4 of them (6 with brutosaur and yak). Mounts now are good just for achievements after drakes were introduced

I think they should do it to simply spit in the faces of the people who bought it with RMT, which is against TOS.

How can the swift Tiger be worth that much when you can only trade 10 million? I guess your having to reply on the seller being trustworthy and hand it over after you have allready given them 8 x 10 millions trades
Oh sorry my internet just disconnected

Would it, though? A lot of people enjoying a mount in a game they pay monthly for seems better to me than having only a handful of people enjoying a mount that they bought from someone else for a heap of money.

So upsetting the people who bought a store mount would be fine, but upsetting the much smaller number of players who purchased a TCG mount would be bad?

The number of paying customers who’d cherish the mounts being added to the Trading Post would far outnumber the few people who have a TCG mount. From a business perspective, it would not be a bad move at all, and the community reception would overall probably be positive (unlike if they added store mounts to the Trading Post).

I have no horse in this race as I don’t collect mounts, but I feel your argument is centered around a very selfish desire to retain the exclusivity of stuff that you have and that other players don’t have, and that ignores what the majority would enjoy.
