Why did sylvanas burn teldrassil? with the new shadowland coming i kinda undestood thats maybe a part of her plan to gain anima to the maw but why? cant she genocide the murlocs instead? also as a zandalari druid (wich basicly druidism comes from the night elves) i feel kinda bad for the elves when u get to the dreamgrove or moonglade and they talk to u im like “im a cracking horde member and we burned your home” its funny but still talkable
any thoughts peoples? do anyone feel that way as a horde druid? im new to the game so idk much but is their another origins for druidims in WoW universe except for night elves?
The Druidism comes not fron the Night Elves or Cenarius. It comes only from Gonk. Night Elves worship their wild gods to get their shapeshift forms, while you have to worship your Loa to get your shapeshift forms. The only Druidism which is mostly the same as the Night Elf one is the Tauren one. You as Zandalari shouldn’t really care about it probably. You joined the Horde after all that happened, so you don’t really have anything to do with it. I assume that Murlocs give much less power than a soul of a intelligent humanoid being so Teldrassil was tge fastest way to get the power.
Elaria
it isnt true Saurfang and Baine disapproved of this massacre so i dont think the “Horde” stands for it especialy not the Zandalari wich works to preserve nature so its only the way of sylvanas… AND for some unknownable reason i still like her even tho i have a night elf character maybe she have a charm on fans cause she is a complex personality
Her complexity is ridiculous for the most tbh. I mean they try to show her as a complex character, but she turned more i to a meme than a character which you can take serious.
Because it fit the story blizzard wanted to tell in the moment.
Blizzard’s lore team are trying to convince us that they planned everything several years ago, and everything is going according to their plan. They make up a lot of stuff about how there have been hints throughout books and what not.
But mind you, it is all lies and if you personally look into the lore you will notice that nothing is planned and blizzard is just making up a story on the whim without looking into the past.
Her motivation for burning down Teldrassil can be one thing today, but entirely different tomorrow, and then a whole third reason in two months time, and then a fourth in two years.
It depends entirely on what blizzard’s lore team finds convenient at the time.
She burned Teldrassil to kill Hope. That was original plan.
That plan makes her just an genocidal Undead psycho. Or a racist. Became crazy without a reason.
But now, when it turns out, that she started a war, just to send souls in to the maw, to get more powers, it’s kinda make sense.
After WOTLK, Sylvanas made a suicide. For her crimes she came down in to maw, where she should suffer forever. To escape from such destiny, she decided to destroy all that death system.
All that is logical. It’s make sense. Just a reminder, Sylvanas started to do genocide right after WOTLK, in Cata, in Gilneas. That was the time, when for some reasons Val’kyr joined her. That was the time, when she started to rise undead. When she started to look like Lich King.
Before that she was just a good archer, that leads forsakens…
Regarding Zandalari trolls druids, yep like was mentioned before, they joined the Horde, after the burning of Teldrassil.
Also, I’m not familiar with Zandalary druids Lore, but do they really love nature, are they same nature fanatics like Nelfs, Taurens and Kultirians druids?
Do not listen to the pretender, sisters! Unlike her I levelled through Darkshore!
As for lore, burning Teldrassil was more of a tantrum on the part of Sylvanas. She wanted to see to it that Malfurion was dead or in chains before the Horde pushed into Teldrassil and annexed it, but Saurfang failed to kill him and let him escape with Tyrande instead. Then we have the cinematic where she’s told ‘you cannot kill hope’, then looks up at Teldrassil and then has a moment where she goes ‘oh yes I can’, and decides that if she can’t kill their leaders she’ll burn their sacred tree to the ground.
On a Cenarion level, you’ve got to note that Teldrassil never was natural to many druids. Because Fandral Staghelm and a group of Night Elf druids grew the tree themselves, for a long time it was considered to be a perversion of nature born from Elven obsession with perfection, and many druids who aren’t Night Elves still think that.
Zandalari aren’t tied by any way to night elves or Cenarius. They predate them and likely their shapeshifting practices. Their abilities came from Gonk which is troll equivalent to Cenarius.
Zandalari are more focused on studying the beasts, dinomancy and usage of shapeshifting abilities for combat. They’re not your typical groove keepers.
Zandalari allied to the Horde long after the Teldrassil was burned, it was not their business and not their responsibility, but considering that trolls and nelves aren’t friends for centuries I doubt it would matter to them.
Gotta love the bait in these threads…Night Elves and specifically Malfurion Stormrage is the first druid, stated in the novels and the quests, and IN GAME cut scene.
Whatever the Zandalari had that predates Malfurion is worshiping the Loa.
Worshiping the Loa is not druidism.
Agreed, the Zandalari trolls can’t be blamed for Teldrassil, however like all druids they would not enjoy seeing a world tree, forests, and lands burnt and blighted.
Funny thing is - orc shamans in vanilla asked you to go kill Venture Company members for what they were doing in Stonetalon Mountains, killing off trees, using explosives and shredding machines because they were upsetting local spirits.
Wild Gods were AFK in Hyjal, like usually. They’re not medding with mortal affairs, they even had to be convinced to help in War of Ancients where the entire world was endangered.
Cenarius is the only Wild God that actually cares for nelves, but even then it was apparently because he sensed fel in orcs.
I recently did Hyjal questing, and none of the ancients seemed to mind nelves at any moment. All they care is for their home to be alright and for their children - like turtles, bears to not be harmed.
