yeah ,no .most people use discord .i dont know anyone who uses telegram and that also has a owner from russia .so hard pass

yes he was arrested by france and do read the charges on which he was arrested for .but again like i said nobody uses telegram for game chats .most people use discord but whatever .

Is this the same platform that was recently exposed as being a major platform for organized crime for their criminal coming and goings because of it’s “privacy settings” and when quizzed about it Mr Duval very helpfully for law abiding citizens said “meh…”

You think discord is squeaky clean?
At no point did I say it was.
But by all means feel free to point out where the owners of Discord were questioned about criminal gangs using it’s platforms to avoid detection to its “privacy settings”

This thread is like when you tell Americans about whatsapp and they tell you only drug dealers use it but it’s actually used by everyone but Americans since Apple got a chokehold on them.
But instead, it’s Europeans angry at Telegram because it’s russian or something even though it’s used by hundreds of millions of people in Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa and South America.

More the case of whatsapp has to provide the information it can provide if asked if its relevant for criminal stuff and is justified according to the law. Telegram doesnt abide this and it was just a matter of time until this would massively backfire.
Also that he went to France despite already having been on the wanted list prior to his landing doesnt really speak for the guys brain activity.
Yes sure his “privacy is untouchable PoV” can be deemed honorable and whatnot (or not, because it also perfect for criminals whom he also refused to hand their data over), but if he believed this would never cause problems with authorities again after he was already forced to leave Russia then just wow. Guy is a prime example of smart people can be borderline stupid.
