Terrible Pre-Patch Event

I don’t post often but i had to chime in here, this is the most boring pre-patch event i can remember.

I stood around with everyone else, cracking jokes and chatting whilst we waited for boss after boss during the shadowlands pre-patch event, and i thought then, that it would be remembered as the least inspired ever, yet it shines compared to this current one.

It’s just not good enough i’m sorry.

The tokens that drop are soulbound rather than warbound. Technically, if you want to maximise the catch-up you’d need to do the events with the alts you’d want to get the gear on to not miss out on token drops.

It feels like they found a formula for an event and that every new “event” is pretty much the same.

It absolutely has to have stages, running from one place to another and a timer.

I’m not saying throw the concept out of the window. Just mix it up a little bit. Game is way too formulaic. And this can make it feel like the content was not designed with passion.

I agree. I am finding the whole thing extremely tedious. The amount of mems dropping outside of the event is just too low. I am NOT doing this to gear up my alts, it will take far too long. I might replace 2-3 bits of gear, but that’s it. Beyond that, I will quit and wait for the expansion to release.

Read somewhere that they will shorten the timer as the event goes on from 90 min to 60 and then 30.

No idea as to why they decided to do this, 0 reason to just make it 30 min from the get go.

So that players stay subscribed for the whole duration.

  1. launch an event, count on huge hype and timegate it to the max
  2. relax the timegating as time goes by and when more people have understood how disappointing it is

They did it with expansions, then patches, now events.

Azeroth is upset. These events are basically sort of like temper tantrums.
In TWW we’ll find out why. That’s the connection.

I mean, I don’t get it, Is Blizzard seriously expecting us to farm mobs non-stop for 1:30h?
We need 1000 mobs to get 1 item, with the weekly quests, in 4 weeks you’ll get 20.000 Radiance Echo.
You need 200.000 in order to gear up an alt and get the mount and pet.
You need 70.000 just to gear up a character.

So, if you substract the 20.000 you get from the weekly, you need kill 15-17.000 mobs.
For items that will obsolete once the event ends.

Where is the fun in that?

There’s also random drops which lessen this number.
Not saying it’s a good event, but it shouldn’t be entirely misrepresented.

Kudos for having a portal that should take me straight to the action.

portal says active next 45 minutes, zone in. “The radiant echoes have subsided”
Given a quest to kill a named mob, doesn’t seem to be spawning.
Reading the comments here sounds like this is another set your alarm and hope you don’t miss the short period its actually active :frowning:

I’d thought you’d learn lessons with some of the previous events that had regular spawns and a debuff/quest so you couldn’t realm hop and repeat; but no back to a lacklustre player experience for a time limited event that in my opinion is supposed to generate hype not hate.

Phew
Read the complaints and then checked the rewards.

Totally skippable.

Waiting for a mob to spawn? Paying to idle! :grimacing:

This is definitely one of the worst pre-patch events. Legion’s and SL’s were pretty good, but this one is a huge leap in quality.

the most failed pre-patch event I ever seen… its actually insulting… they keep failing in wasting our time… and they get payed as game developers… already regret for the subscription

Yep so you can abuse having multiple alts and stack up currency? Absolutly not. What you expect? That you will have army of alts what will farm currency from weekly Q then trasnfer all of it into 1 char? BLizzard literaly told us that they wont desing game around people having advantage playing multiple characters over those who play just 1 char.

They absolutely are designing this game with warband in mind though, make no mistake.

The best way to farm currency is to do the weeklies on your alts too, which means waiting. A lot of waiting.

In fact, that is probably the reason they chose the Siege of dragonbane model for this event.

It will be shorter as the weeks passes though isn’t ?

I’m not fan of tagging fest events, regardless of the drop rate =\

nearly missed my alarm; first actual event was a laggy slide show
probably cause you have 2-5minutes every 2 hours to actually do the event so everybody needs to be there :frowning:
