If PvP was balanced for 1v1, rogues would have been nerfed on their chain cc lock from the beginning.
Nerfing classes and specs doing too much damage from one spell has nothing to do with 1v1, it’s just too much and disrupt on every level.
Whereas rogue chain lock only works in 1v1, but not in multi-player. Therefore no need for a nerf.
Unless you play a dwarf pala/frost mage, you get bodied by rogues, not much you can do against which is lowkey bad balancing.
Rogues can easily CC 1-2 targets and kill one (or play FC in WSG), + getting away.

Since when can rogues in SoD kill any PvP geared person (not those pve gear with no armor and stamina)?
Few SH priest dots already killed rogues, now they buffed them to do even more damage.
Hunters stronger than ever, paladins stronger than ever, priests stronger than ever, mages stronger than ever, warlocks stronger than ever. Warriors finally got some love.
Meanwhile rogues: 3 energy on crit or 15 on 20% chance offhand. Honor among thieves is really no use in PvP. and to make use of carnage or cut to the chase in PvP fight must be much much longer, but by even with global dmg reduction BG buff, all the instant DoTs will drain down rogues with no spell resist.
So math is as follows for P3:
All classes +40% spell dmg (lets say) or less dmg but more defensive abilities
Rogues: +0% magic mitigation, +0 defensive abilities a really slight damage upgrade with having 20% chance to get 15 energy.
Now apply a for example 30% dmg reduction in BG:
All other classes still buffed, still have the P3 bonus defensive abilities
Rogues: -30% dmg, still lacking the magic resist and bonus defensive abilities.
The deciding factor in BGs will be: Who has priest/paladin healer, wins.
and please dont bring 1v1 onto the table, there is really no 1v1 in SoD, especially in BGs.
Again, comparing 0.3% of wow players to casuals.
Imagine him not being hooman rogue, he could not expose the other horde rogue from stealth, because of the racial.
With all the “improves stealth” items, talents, hooman rogues casually stun me from stealth while I cannot see them or hear them. Same for night elf druids, their stealth is so strong, that I cannot see them in cat while stealth even with my improved stealth detection talents. gnomes resisting all my stuns. paladins bubbling up from all stuns.
sometimes i can use distract to reveal them for a moment but first i must pinpoint their location from hearing “shhh” noise and that costs 40 energy, so if i open right afther that, I am opening with a huge handicap.
Maybe try playing horde rogues and then start being smart in your bubble.
Since you need a minimum rogue knowledge how2play properly.
Their dots kill any non-healing classes / no exeption /
Why did you miss to put shamans stroner than ever too ?Yes they all need a solid nerf ,which would be a thing once 60 hit and all runes introduced
Have you tried farm/st def ? it’s fun and you could engage 1+ enemies
on PvE realm, everyone has PvP turned off, because they dont want to be bothered by bored rogues.
Also look at those warriors there, auto-attack bots. no charge, no disarm rogue, no shout to redure AP… I can be useful against noobs like on his videos.
Shamans are storng, but never had problem defeating one in duel. Its one of the few classes I can handle :D, if we go BG they rampage, but against rogues weak.
oh boy the bad rogues are back
since p2 started, and still nothings changed.
At least you could avoid the SP by seeing him, you never know where the rogues will be.
stronger doesn’t mean viable in PvP, unlike Rogues, which got spoonfed the most OP runes in P1 and P2.
Throwing out these numbers like candy, Vanish is lowkey the best defensives if a damage instance doesn’t happen, which is really easy.
hes using imorph, he might be human or was just faster.
yeah we saw how useful you were… not.
No point Even going pvp as melee , great! Ranged can just dot you from 30-40 yards Even easier! Well this is dead after cata either way since its allready struggling. Great to buff shadow priests Even more!
They needed that
I find these changes horrible tbh.
This pvp reduction will completly broke some class and others will be even more OP.
All hybrids, healers and class with high tankiness (warlocks) and self heal will be even more OP than now.
Blizzard, doing this test will be a waste of time, please explore other options like balancing the class 1 by 1 for pvp (put a pvp modifier of some skills if needed).
They cried their way to the top just like they did in Wrath.
Noob paladins forgot he is also a healing class lol
Understandable, rets don’t put healing abilities on their bars.
unlike these classes, we actually need to cast, enough time for a kick or to just walk away.
Warlock - DL, Haunt, DC, HS
Priest - Renew, VE, PWS
Druids - WildGrowth, Reju, HT if FoM procs
Shamans - NS into HW or MSW into HW.
Fair enough
this is a good call, pvp is just to bursty i play a priest and a pally just Sissh swosh me in 4 secons.
Huh, yesterday in WSG a feral druid outhealed 4 people with frenzied regen (8k) as the FC. Guess this will be even more oppresive this weekend
i hope you have taken into account that a flat dmg reduction across the board will serve 2 main purposes:
-
buffing any and all classes that can heal as you flat out gain more out of every successful heal you cast as there is less damage to fix.
-
and nerf any and all classes that cannot.
i would hate to play a rogue when this test goes live, because they are hands down the class that will be negatively impacted the most.
at least hunters will have their ranged/kiting to fall back on, but if you’re a rogue… good luck.
and no, warriors are nowhere near as poorly set since the buff to victory rush basically makes them a self-healer as every time they kill something they get a free 30% heal… and then there’s the frenzied regeneration or whatever its called which also heals another 30% over 10 seconds… warriors basically don’t need a healer to heal at this point and its pretty absurd.
A very strange decision to buff all players by -% damage. It would be better to hang on pvp sets for each piece -2% of incoming damage (for example), and with a full set, also -5% crit chance. It would be more honest towards the people who received the pvp set.
