Thalyssra and Lor'themar human age

Hello Everyone.

I was remembering a video from Nobbel in which he tells the story of the encounter of Lor’themar, with Thalyssra.(Need to finish it)

I know Nightbornes live longer than Blood Elves.
But even though Thalyssra seems to have lived longer than Lor’themar, he seems to be the older character.
Which leads me to think it doesn’t matter how long you lived in WoW, it matters how old you are to your race.

If you would attribute a Human age to this two characters, based on our life expectations, how old you would consider this two characters ?

Thanks for your attention.
Cheers.

If you mean the Blood elf king I think he is really very old with his white hair and the way he talks.

White hair is a natural hair color for Elves. Vereesa has it ever since a young age

I though Vereesa have silver hair.

Anyway Lorthmar hair is more white than Vereesa so he should be much older than her.

Not to mention he always looks very tired.

I’m going to go with the voice actors ages And minus it by 10:

So 38 for Lor’themar and 34 for Thalyssra.

Thalyssra is more than 10.000 years old. She was there during the Sundering , and by then she was already a high ranking Highborne who had had apprentices of her own. As far as I’m aware, high- and blood elves very rarely grow that old. Kael’thas Sunstrider’s father was physically old by the time Arthas murdered him, and he was 2.000 yrs old by then.

Lor’themar could be mistaken for a human in his mid-40’s, so he and Thalyssra are physically somewhat equal. In terms of physical age, I would even say that he seems to be the older of the two. In terms of actual years however, she is likely several times his age.

Pretty much. Draenei are another example of a race capable of growing incredibly old in terms of years, without being physically old because of it. Velen is truly ancient and it shows, but he was already a leader of his people with a magnificent beard of his own. That was 25.000 years ago.

At least 12.
According to reddit he is at least 400 years old.
Blood Elves apparently hit adulthood around 375 and become old at 1360.

So I’d say like… 30’s?

Yeah but… shes a Paladin… ew yuck. Mage any day of the week.

These two words unironically trigger me.
Human potential is just… please no.

Well, it’s tricky, Thalyssra was after all of the same genetic stock as the Highborne Night Elves, and they were immortal until Archimonde came to Azeroth the first time and destroyed the World tree, at which point all Elves started aging again.

We know all Elves live for ‘several’ thousand years (all types) apart from Void Elves, we have no idea if they do, as the lore source on Elven ageing was printed before they were introduced. It was before Nightborne were introduced as well, but they’re essentially Kaldorei.

So while Thalyssra has been in existence for longer than Lor’themar, we have no idea how old she was when she became immortal for 10,000 years, similar to Tyrande and Malfurion.

Tricky, That is his natural hair colour, as can be seen in the ‘Blood of the Highborne’ novella (Where we also learn that his natural eye colour is brown), and it does seem to be a natural hair colour for Elves, and doesn’t necessarily mean he is old, you actually get that in real life, and not just in Albino’s, but in people who have naturally Ash-blonde hair. My hair was Lor’themar’s colour when I was born, and stayed that way till about 17, when it went proper golden, and then when I hit 40 it has darkened, to a kind of brown. Whilst my head hair has no ageing signs, when I grow a beard or moustache it has white hairs amidst the ginger (Don’t ask why my beard is ginger but my head hair is brown, I have no idea!)
As to the way he talks, I talk that way, and I’m middle aged, not old. He just has a refined way of talking, is all, well, when he’s not being a snark beast, anyway.

He is definitely older than Vereesa, He was already a Ranger-Lord, at the time of the Dark Portal, whereas Vereesa was too young to fight in the Second War.

As for looking tired, well, yeah, He’s had to handle the betrayal of a close friend (Dark’han Drathir) which led to the death of 90% of his species, then the betrayal of his Prince, then having to lead the Sin’dorei through their darkest hour, and he doesn’t even want to lead them, but they want him to. He has lived a life of duty and betrayal, and now has the stresses of ruling an entire nation weighing on him. You can tell from his and Thalyssra’s short story that he never stops stressing about his rule, and the state of the Horde, until one of his advisors, Rommath says “Just take some time off, go do something for yourself for once!” which does kind of imply that the poor chap works himself into the ground for his people.

Hmm, He had -reigned- for 3,000 years, unless he was crowned King upon his birth it seems highly likely he was older than that, besides, Alleria fought in the Troll Wars which ended 2,800 years ago, and she still seems perfectly spritely.

Ehh, nah. Reddit ain’t right on that front. High and Blood Elves reach maturity at, at most 20 years old (Source is ‘Edge of Night’ Sylvanas is already a Farstrider at that age), and they don’t become old at that age, as I say, Alleria is still spritely and she is at least 2,770 years old, and thats assuming she was 20 when that War was happening.

This said, if I had to age them in human terms, I’d probably agree with what some say here, he probably is in his relative mid forties, and Thalyssra, now that she is not immortal anymore is probably in her mid-to late 30’s, putting them both above 1,000 actual years old.

This post has cleared up so much stuff about how elven age work in Warcraft - I thought I would be wrong in making my warlock nearly 3000 years old, now I know it’s perfectly acceptable. :joy: Thanks.

Warlocks are literally the foundation of this entire universe. Warlocks are much more important than a load of dead old humans, which is all Paladins got.
