Rogue is really the champion of getting kicked while down. No AoE stop (the ONLY class in the game with no AoE stop as of now), no meaningful utility because Shroud was eviscerated post-BfA quite directly and on purpose, no group buff other than a 3% DR that doesn’t even always work…
And what’s supposed to cover for that? Oh, nothing, you will bring your damage (subject to merciless tuning down if you’re ever at the top) and the ability to not die to AoE as easily. Unless Rogue is tuned like 10% above any other DPS, there’s legitimately no reason to bring them along, because any class in the game has better utility and can do similar if not superior damage. My friends will suffer my company regardless and thus far nobody else in our guild wants to go Rogue for raid, but I do not envy people who have to PUG on Rogue.
It’s kind of strange to look at a class that was designed to be an absolute ace at utility and CC back in 2004, and see, in 2026, a class that is by far the worst at it with zero compensation.
Just a suggestion. AoE Blind is better than not having any AoE cc. But it works in a clunky way compared to some better AOE cc. It doesn’t seem to handle to dungeon affix properly, that you need to cc.
So what if distract was changed to a targetable AoE cc that you can throw around for a short disorient or something. Give it a 30-60 sec cooldown. That way it would be a usable cc in more situations and could fit thematically. Could even make you not go into combat with the group, so you could use it also the same way distract is used right now.
