Thank you for being wholesome, fellow Hydration Lords!

I just wanted to thank the people on this server for making my Classic experience so far absolutely lovely. On both the Horde and Alliance my encounters with other players have been pretty much universally positive. People are friendly, patient, talkative, eager to group up for quests, and I’ve been the recipient of some wonderful good deeds such as random people trading me bags and a higher level warrior boosting me all the way through RFC and letting me keep all the loot purely out of the kindness of their heart.

Thanks for being swell, guys. It’s been lovely so far. <3

Oh, uh… I meant “wish you well”! No need for the workaround on the forums.

Gotta say the same. Met some really nice people throughout my experience so far, especially in Westfall and Duskwood.

In Hillsbrad I grouped up with a few people to take on Shadowfang Keep. I was way beyond the dungeon’s level at that point and didn’t need any loot from it but went along anyway because I wanted to help with big DPS and just for the company. Cool people and it just felt nice to help without expecting anything in return. It was the first dungeon in the classic experience I ran so I wanted to get it under my belt.

If anyone’s looking for a bit of help in a dungeon and want a bit of higher level muscle call Thomund, he’s always looking to help and smack a few fools on the way.

(also if someone is willing to have my lvl 33 self along for RFK or Gnomeregan that’d be awesome)

So far I can say the same! Everyone has been kind and helpful. A group helped me clear out some mines in Westfall yesterday when I was attempting the quest about three levels too early. And I’ve had a nice RP chat with someone in Elwynn and some in character questing with a lower level Dwarf in Dun Morogh.

I really appreciate those who like to socialise before level 60, because thats my favourite part of the game, the journey, not the end game.

It really is quite lovely through the bank. Got helped a lot during my early leveling phase, so I try to pay it back wherever I can.

The other day I did the quest where you have to escort one of those robot chicken in Feralas. Saw a dwarf hunter pick it up before me and fail, because the chicken ran out of range. So I logged onto an ally char, whispered him and explained to him the trick to the quest (Always stay near the chicken, that way if you get attacked it gets in-fight also and stops running away). Then logged back and helped him with it. Once he was done we doubled back and he helped me

I just want to echo the sentiment of this thread. I generally don’t have time to play during peak hours. Mostly, I play a few hours per week around midnight. I might not see too many people, but the ones I do meet are fantastic. Just last week I grouped up while questing in Silverpine, to take out a few elite werewolves and fetch a journal. I joined forces with this warlock and a few others (people came and went as we progressed through the town, but the warlock and myself were there from start to end), and bonded in glorious bloodshed. Turns out, with enough DPS and a good healer, a shadow priest makes for a pretty decent tank! It took hours to get everyone in the group the required quest items, and I was completely spent when we finally did it, but it is still my favourite moment in classic so far.

Good people make this game so much better.

A random dwarf gave me a pair of Lightforged Gauntlets. Wholesome indeed.

Maybe it is the fact that game mechanics itself force upon working together or perhaps just I was lucky to meet very helpful people myself. Either way I also wanted to echo those posts. I have encountered plenty of people that helped me on the way, even if they did not have the same quest or just were in the area. I have neve rplaye Vanilla before and gave it a try with caution but I got hooked more than I anticipated.

I think part of it is that a lot of people have come to Classic looking for a more positive social experience as well. Good attitudes encourage similar behaviour from others. Right off the bat I think a lot of people set the right tone for the Classic experience, and it seems to be helping to cultivate a very positive community on this server. While some of the game mechanics definitely help to support this, I think it’s the people first and foremost who are making a difference. Hydration Lords has certainly been a much more wholesome server than the one I was on back in Vanilla WoW.

The amount of buffs I get from strangers is staggering. The amount of times some dives in with a heal, or charges into the fray, when I have taken on a bit more than I can chew. The amount of times people will stick around long after they have all the drops they need for their quest to make sure I have mine. The amount of people that give advice when in parties rather than berate for mistakes. The amount of folks that are willing to give out things they have crafted for free or cheap. The amount of friendly people that just want to chat, roleplay, and have a laugh.

This server has so much of them all. Thank you.

Hydraxion really is the place to be if wholesome is your preferred blend of tea.

I’ve met many a lovely person and very much enjoyed some impromptu roleplay whilst out and about.

For instance, yesterday evening I ran into the founder of my RP addon of choice whilst nipping back to Darnassus for some poisons. Before I knew it I found myself engaging in some humorous IC back and forth with her regarding herbal acquisitions and the like.

However, a particular highlight for me has been the sending and receiving of IC letters from those I’ve grouped with or otherwise helped, usually with some helpful goodies appended. To those people, you know who you are if you’re reading this - I remain both humbled and honoured to have met and helped you dudes.

Stay cool.

I’ve not really had any negative experiences with the community so far, which almost feels like a miracle. Pretty much everyone I’ve met in the game has been friendly, positive and helpful.

The server is getting rather full though. It’s gone from Medium to Full in the space of just a few days, doubtless due to ‘queue refugees’ fed up with full servers, and choosing ours as a means to play without queues, rather than because they’re interested in role playing.

This means that the RP community is currently a very small minority, which maybe isn’t so ideal. Hopefully this will change over time as new servers are opened and transfers allowed.

I think that may have been in part because they turned off layering last week. No more layers means there’s less “stretch” in the population, so it switches to full quicker than it would normally, when layers fill up and a new one gets created.

I agree with that though. We’ll see how things turn out.

I’d also like to thank the other players so far.

There are people most often willing to team up (instead of compete) for quest mobs, aid in elite quests and the General chats in all zones I’ve been into have been friendly and most of the time quite funny too.

In dungeon runs, people have been patient and made sure everybody gets to complete their quest objectives.

It appears to me we have a good thing going!
