Sexual orientation of certain NPCs has 0 impact on the player character. You can roleplay your character however you wish, either way. There is both females and males for each race, therefore if you wish you can identify yourselves as anything.
Just highlighting this… /vomit, they could have not been like “MY BELOVED” every 5 seconds of that stupid quest, seriously annoying. 
Also… this game is for killing, not loving, Blizz… get with the program!
I think everything has its place in the game. If it was just about killing the game wouldn’t be nearly as fun, the story and characters are a big part of the game. The problem is the writers just can’t write good compelling relationships
If it’s the story text or some rescue mission i don’t mind (without audio highlighting), but when the characters literally scream “MY BELOVED” every few seconds there is where i draw a line… i mean seriously overacting there.
Tough i understand that it was a sort of “audio hide and seek” it was still annoying af.
Never again Blizz… or let me skip these at least =((

I personally don’t think any story big or small should just be randomly thrown in.
Your bog standard quest isn’t as much of an issue as it doesnt change the overall story however if two major lore characters regardless of sexual preference suddenly get together it just wont make sense Like the Flynn and Shaw one actually made sense and was delievered through the books to the point that I understand they are actually exploring together in this current book.
Characters who we interact with like Flynn/Shaw/Lucille Waycrest/Brother Pike etc etc I consider them story based characters so their interactions in my mind atleast should be well thought out and actually have a story line that would make sense to those characters and if they end up developing relationships like with Flynn/Shaw Id hope they would explore it in some fashion to let it be something thats related to the story instead of just a hey look those two are a couple how cute.
I get the feeling your trying to make me seem like I am some sort of homophobe when inreality I couldnt give a toss who shacks up with who aslong as it doesnt effect the story by being added for no real reason.
I really wasn’t. I was just curious about your position. Thank you for clarifying it. I think it’s fair to ask for a believable integration and backstory, and not just slap an LGBT label on a character and be done with it. I don’t think Blizzard has done that though.

I’m sure Xavius was nice enough to lend the real Malfurion a speaker to call out too.
Also him sitting in that house or whatever and waiting for me to “find” him, ofc it was an illusion/fake.
It was like a D grade drama movie. 
why do they need to change already existing things? surely azeroth has enough space to put new npc’s that represent what you want without removing any existing npcs.
either it is blended in with existing content, or it shouldn’t be put in if you’re going to replace existing content. if you want to put it front and centre, why not create your own IP with whatever diversity at its core. its funny how all the “debates” over recent years about inclusion appear to be about inclusion being put into existing IP’s rather that stand alone content.
but i think this represents it best:
you look at the actual mandate of some of these movements, and this is at their core. you want equality? you’re not going to get it with that mentality.
and lets not forget, why did blizz not do this over a decade ago? i dont think people would have cared hardly at all 10 years ago, but RIGHT NOW, it seems too convenient that all these companies are doing it as if they’re just doing it for lip service:
“look at us, we are representing your cause/ideology, now buy our product”. my personal opinion of that, is its a bit sickening. if you are happy with companies using your uniqueness’es to sell a product, then expect backlash from people who think its a sickening sales tactic.

and this is why both sides cant work together. there are some on both sides that are just to entrenched to accept when something is correct on the other side. many times in this thread people have been blasting on about this being a european issue, but you yourself posted a NA thread.
