Thanks Blizzard for bringing back Normal Flying.

Finaly i feel relax when i fly around and play relax.

please keep normal flying always in the game next to other posibilities

I do hope that in 11.0 they just have both versions of flying in from the start. Dragonriding has had its time to bed in and players are used to it now.

they said normal flying will require some stuff but easy things like doing campaign etc.

Dynamic Flight

Dragonriding is here to stay and will also be available for many flying mounts in all flyable areas even prior to the launch of The War Within. Players will also be able to toggle between dynamic flight or the flying style introduced originally in The Burning Crusade (TBC).

Algarian Storm Gryphon flying

Dynamic Flight will be available from the start in Khaz Algar and players will be able to unlock the TBC style of flight at maximum level by exploring the zones of The War Within and completing the campaign. Players will also be able to collect glyphs throughout Khaz Algar as they explore. These glyphs will be shifting to an evergreen state in which players shouldn’t feel as if they need to go back to Dragonflight to gain any they missed before. Some abilities that players have collected from their adventures in the Dragon Isles may be restricted to the Dragon Isles, but base abilities like increased Vigor will become a part of how Dynamic Flight works and available to everyone as they level up.

Am i the only one that does not want any type of flying? Especially at the start of an expansion. It ruins exploration and immersion imo. Later in the expansion then fine but being able to fly right from the start? I watched the deep dive and saw how she explained how the zones are layered like caverns underground and seemless from one to the next. However from day one it looks like from the video, you can just fly straight from the starter zone all the way down into to the final zone if you want. It would be so much better going down on foot, would feel deeper and more immersive, make mobs harder the futher you go, make the world feel more dangerous in the later zones.

Meh, maybe im just looking at it in nostalgia goggles.

That is your experience indeed. For me, flying enhances the experience, while being grounded reduces it because I get to see so little of the world when I can’t fly.

at the start of an expansions 100% no flying, otherwise the threads would complain because of ganking (they will also refuse to turn warmode off cause they want the extra exp)

Dragon flight done a good job with flying at the start. it is now healthy to turn that off and fly normal since we almost at the end of the expansion.

Imo during lvling no flying is all good to me. During that time you get to see the zones from groundlevel while questing and once you reach the max level then it unlocks. I also wouldn’t mind having smaller zones with no leveling at all.
Like Korthia(if we ignore rest of the Maw), for all it’s other faults, was good size for having no flying.

Remove flying mount from your action bar and BOOM, your own personal experience.

True but not ideal if the zone is not designed for it (deepholm comes to mind)

Yeahhh… Been using it on and off, depending on what I was doing.
Longer trip: Dragonriding.
Shorter trips or lots of movement needed to navigate (through branches and whatnot): Normal flying.

Also I just really missed some of my favorite flying mounts.

I didn’t think I would use it but I actually love just being able to hop about on my normal mount without having to fly high up in the air and smash back down a little bit further. I can also land well on trees for treasures and stop-and-go for mining/herbing. To get to the other side of the map? Ofc dragonriding. Otherwise, I even use my mount on the floor.

Now you can fly slow and afk to your heart’s content. I am glad you got the choice, but it’s one i’m personally not gonna take. Dynamic flying all the way.

I got my Pathfinder yesterday and I absolutely love being able to fly slow again. I don’t feel sick and if I really have to get across the Emerald Dream fast I can land and take the speedy vomi flying mount.

I’ve enjoyed having old flying again but it would be nice if it got a slight bump in speed, 400% flight speed would be fine so its faster but not competing with dragon riding.

we are not nearly at the end of dragonflight there is over a year to go to the next expansion .

This is a good improvement over DF. As long as Dragonriding isn’t required to complete the Campaign.

Although to their credit Bliz do seem to recognise that not everyone is capable of doing tricky aerial manoeuvres. I was doing the Intro quests in Emerald Dream yesterday and there was a quest to fly through fiery orbs. I flew around and managed to fluke one. But I did notice in the quest text that it mentioned the option of using a Faerie Drake to assist. I clicked on this and it basically flew through the other 11 orbs for me, all I had to do was watch.
I hope this is how they intend to treat all such quests. There does seem to be more recognition on Accessibility recently, this is good.

I did some of the quests on my druid today and it was so nice to have flightform. Yesterday I flew around with dragonriding on another character and I kept getting tangled up in branches and what not, I may have been cursing the new tree :wink: It’s lovely to have old flying again!
