I mean, I can"t imagine why, but apparently for some people shooting out a massive wave of critting Lava Bursts and getting tons of maelstrom while not having to apply 1 extra Flame Shock wasn’t fun, so now you changed PW to be this bland, boring button which only serves as a Splintered Elements trigger. Ridiculous comment about PW being too complex aside, you didnt actually achieve anything because ele will still do the same rotation, with the only change being you need to manually cast 1 more Flame Shock.
Insane that this change was made for enh and their new Primordial Storm talent with zero regards to ele, who was arguably more reliant on it since Shadowlands.
I am still waiting for the mentioned compensation for Ancestral Guidance removal, but thanks anyway, I imagine solo content like delves will be much more enjoyable now.
Another change I am grateful for is the sneaky, undocumented nerf to Ascendance. For those who don"t know, the extra overload from normal overloads during Ascendance is 100% on live, but 50% on PTR. I for sure love that you made ele a burst spec with rework, only to nerf that burst 3 times in a row ever since.
Tired of this whiplash rollercoaster that is ele development, incomplete rework, nerfs to fun abilities amd changes no ine asked for. Will main my monk in season 2, it is just a chill version of shaman anyway.
I’m playing enh mostly, but i still hate the new PW change. In general i think turning covenant spells into something else as pretty stupid. Whats next turn warrior’s spear of bastion into something completely different?
Another week, and no comments about this from the developers. Infact, shaman class wasn’t even mentioned this time.
So we are heading into the new patch with:
Primordial Wave being destroyed in fun and impactfulness.
Ascendance being stealth nerfed becauee the overload proc from overloads is now 50% chance.
Ancestral Gudiance being flat out pruned without compensation.
DRE being nerfed because they removed the bad luck protection. Not sure if this is intended.
Boring tier set focusing on elementals (this is subjective). Also subjective, but I think the new tier appearance is more suited for warlock and the new LB animation is super mid.
It is baffling to me how you can backtrack so much on design after a largely successful rework.
What on earth have they done to Elemental with this patch? They’ve really seemed to slow down my gameplay and I no longer have enough short / instant cast spells to tag mobs before they’re killed by others when doing the quests in the new zones. It’s definitely less fun than it was last patch.
In their head they did compensation, they buffed healing totem, but 0 * 1.8 is still 0
For every covenant ability that later become a talent, they chose ones used the most. They completely ignored fun, gameplay and communities feedback, and simply chose abilities most players used. And in every single case, covenant abilities that were most popular were the strongest ones numerically.
This is just another thing that confirms that they design WoW in an excel spreadsheet.
Blizz, please fix issues you have created before season 2 starts.
I wanted to go enhancement this patch, but (and I heard its Performace will probably be good), I hate the new gameplay. The rotation will take 100 years for me to master lol, but that’s a me-problem, but on top, I hate that playstyle.
So before 11.1 I was doubting between SU hunter and Enhancement Shaman, now the choice is made for me. Sadly, since I loved enhancement.
