I am a little bummed out, based on the promotions, I assumed that it is indeed a x10 buff, ut apparently a flat 5% is only half of it in most cases, including the Deathchager’s Reins which I started farming (no luck so far, and what’s slightly annoying is that I’ve got every single mog from Stratholme Undead side already).

Funny story about probability calculation. Got into an argument with someone over droprates once back in WotLK.

I was farming Anzu on my druid at the time and did the usual whining and complaining in guildchat that I had now ran the dungeon 72 times and still no mount.

He then went on and started explaining the probability of me getting it on subsequent attempts, when I said that it’s still 1% whenever I kill the mob. He then got really annoyed at me and started screaming how I could disagree with math.

He then wanted to try to explain this to me again and asked if I played the lottery. I said “yes I do” and he asked, what are the chances of winning there?
“50/50” I said
“50/50???” he asked
“Yeah, either I win or I don’t” I said

Then he logged off…

Also at 1% drop-rate the threshold for a coin-toss is 70 attempts.

You should be. I loathe addons. I don’t like the idea of having to download third party software for my game to work properly.

Let’s be real the increase in percentage-wise or 5x/10x/25x is fake. It’s just to get people subscribe again because of FOMO.

Anybody getting a mount now is purely because they’re attempting something again and got lucky this time.

Personally done:

  • Onyxia’s Lair = No Mount
  • ICC = No mount
  • Tempest Keep - The Eye = No Mount
  • Eye of Eternity = No Mount
  • Utgarde Keep = No Mount
  • Sethekk Halls = No Mount
  • Ulduar = No Mount
  • Ny’alotha = No Mount
  • Vortex Pinnacle = No Mount
  • Throne of the Four Winds = No Mount
  • Dragon Soul = No Mount
  • Firelands = No Mount
  • Zul’Gurub = No Mount
  • Dazar’Alor = No Mount
  • King’s Rest = No Mount
  • Freehold = No Mount

Now OMW to do the Cata one’s but expectancy is very low. Obviously I do not expect mounts to be dropping for me everywhere, but maybe one of the least rare dropping from a 5-man dungeon but any number times ZERO is still ZERO.

Blizzard can say they increased it by 9000% and you not getting it is just you being unlucky this time, just do it again!

Yup. Drop-rates are still ****.

Need to do it 13 times for the coin-toss. Each attempt 10-20 min thats 2-4 hours farming. For a coin-toss.

I’ve got the Malygos mounts (all of them) after my 11th try (blue at 5th and azure at 11th). I also got the windseeker lego part (two times the left). They surely increased it. But you are right, we can’t tell how much.

To be honest if someone only has 1 or two characters this event is pretty useless.

Could just be pure luck today, could be an actual increase. You don’t see actual drop percentages anywhere.

It takes a lot of time traveling around to dungeons/raids and even if you one shot stuff, every dungeon takes at least 5-10 minutes with travel included. That’s obviously considering you don’t buy skips or anything.

Not everyone is going to put hours into this every day on 10+ characters. I’m already bummed out after doing maybe 1/5th of the possible dungeons/raids with drops on a single character.

Yeah Done only TBC and Wrath and, honestly. Already burnt out since i’ve been through this motion too many times before without any reward.

Updated to just a moment ago. Still not a single drop to be found. Better to wait for the “Expansion: Remix” instead of grinding for a month on dozens of characters, burn yourself out and be disappointed in the end.
