Hello, I have been waiting for ages to get a canon character’s name for my character since a Game Master literally told me to wait to get it years ago yet the customer service a week ago told me that the name is on blacklist. This does greatly frustrate me becaue of how long I have been waiting for. I don’t see why they would blacklist a name just because it belongs to a character that exists in the lore. Although, whilst the name I desire to get for my character is restricted, some other really important canon characters’ names are not on the blacklist and they are still obtainable. Blizzard, just make these names available to get if it is not taken by someone else!
Be more original in naming your characters.

Yeh happens.
I had a cool name for my Pandarean Monk back at the start of MoP which turned out to have a restricted word in the middle of the name. I didn’t even notice tbh, and I doubt anyone would have seen it or complained, because the name was really good and very suiting for the class, race and my personal in game name.
GM said “No”. I got over it and moved on. But I would still like to have that name.

Just keep adding grave accents above every letter until the game allows it and it starts looking like the logo of a progressive death metal band…

As others have said, you will need to come up with your own creative version of the name if you really want it that badly 
You can make many names if you use chars like ÿ, ñ, ä, â, å, ë, ö, ï, î etc. Although I guess that may still trigger a forced rename at some point.
Or just be original.

‘F’ is kind of ridiciolous if you ask me. It’s like an ‘E’ that couldn’t afford all the lines.

Actually it was true. You weren’t allowed to use lore names, names of famous people and many other restrictions. You could make them but if spotted or reported you had to change them. It’s only very recently the list of restrictions seems to have disappeared.

Naming your character after a known lore character is probably one of the most uninspired names you could think of. Especially when you have to use a bunch of weird letters to even make it work. I’d be a millionaire if I got a dollar every time I saw a demon hunter with Illidan in their name in one form or another…

Is just a normal letter part of the alphabet if you are speaking danish and guess many of the other none standard letters from English are used as normal letters in other nations alphabet

I’m kinda happy they make a black list of names as that also means they can punish people harder for people trying to bypass the blacklist to get a name.
obviously all letters are being used by someone, otherwise they wouldn’t exist

There comes a point where any combination has been taken on decently populated servers and you have to play with stupid special characters…
We should be able to choose any name, our characters are linked to a Bnet ID, where you can select any nickname for it before a ID number is applied to it.
