The application “World of Warcraft Launcher.app” can’t be opened

Updated the game yesterday and played just fine. Went to play again today and the client won’t even launch. I just get a small window with:

" The application “World of Warcraft Launcher.app” can’t be opened."

I haven’t seen anyone else post about this other than people having problems installing the game. I already have it installed so I am not sure if it is the same issue or unrelated.

By the way, I can run the launcher from applications/world of Warcraft/retail/world of Warcraft.app but on trying to log in I get this error:

“we couldn’t verify your account with that information. (WOW51900314)”

And yes, I do have an active account with game time until July 7th.

I frequently stumble upon the same problem. Using the World-of-Warcraft-Setup app fixes the problem (temporarily)
