The best allied race?

It is probably that if 8.3.5 happens it will finish off the allied race slots.
But we don’t actually know that there is going to be an 8.3.5 yet.

So in case there is not…

What is your favourite allied race and why?
(question will be asked again at a later date if they add more)

Lore-wise I’d have to go with Nightborne(but their models kinda suck) but just visually I like Void Elf best.

Haven’t played them all yet… I am to unlock DID in a few days and in due time I will have to unlock kul tirans.

So atm my best to worst is:

  1. Dreanor orcs (cool heritage armor really bad racials!) Mine is a warrior.
  2. Zandalari trolls (Cool racial armor really fitting for a priest and decent racials)
  3. Void elves (great heritage armor and decent caster racials - really fitting warlocks or priests)
  4. DID (after blizzard fixed that belt I will be making a shaman. Best racials for utility imo)
  5. Kul tiran humans (great heritage armor most fitting for rogues outlaw speck)
  6. Moose taurens (cool armor. Mine is a hunter (bullrush is quite fitting here), also I have a mw monk. She is uncatchable)
  7. Nightbourne (arcane mage. Cool heritage armor, really bad character model so its number 7 to me)
  8. Worst of all is lightforged. Its barely a reskin and their armor and racials are really lacking. My lightforged is lvl 100 and I cannot bother to ding her to lvl 110…

Vulpera is really cool looking so I will rank it after Moose tauren. They have nice heritage armor and cool racials.

Robotic gnomes are top because of racials and lightforged level for looks… Soo after nightbourne because I prefere looks to racials… (This explains why terribad racials of maghar is number one for me…)

Good choices.
I agree the NB had everything going for them until Blizzard botched it at the last second.

From best to the pits of hell worst
Void Elf - Best model, good customisation options. Lore is a letdown but whatever. I’ve got three of them.
Mag’har - Similar reasons to Void Elves. Orcs and Thalassian Elves are where it’s at.
Lightforged - Reskin, but they look badass.
Dark Irons - Same as above
Kul Tirans - Most unique allied race, but not to my taste.
Zandalari - I hate trolls
Nightborne - Looks like trash, poundland version of Blood Elf lore and Night Elf models.
Highmountain - Tauren with antlers, laziest reskin
Mechagnomes - Can’t use certain transmog slots
Vulpera - The most disturbing thing they’ve added. I dread their addition so much.

Nightborne for lore sakes. I’m just really upset they went Horde, and disappointed that the playable model isn’t as good as the NPC model.

My other favourite is Zandalari trolls.

Nightborne are easily my favourite.
They share so much with the Blood Elves that are already my favourite race from the beggining. Sometimes I wonder which of those 2 races story I liked best as I love both of them so much.

But they have their problems: they were rushed, customization is lacking. The male Nightborne look like they were put even less effort than the females.
But I’m here hoping that they, like everyone else, will get attention with Shadowlands customization additions.

I absolutely adore the Zandalari and am really happy to have them.

I have made one of each class for them.

EDIT: i don’t have a reason as to why they are my favourite, they just make me happy and logging onto any of them makes me happy.

For me the best allied race are definitely DI dwarves.
Dwarves were always my most favourite fantasy race in every game, movie, or book.
And DI dwarves are a cooler version of the ones in WoW.

For alliance: Kul Tirans for sure.

For horde: Vulpera and Mag’har. I like them both for very different reasons, so they’d have to tie for ‘favorite’.

for alliance:

  • kul tirans, like the rugged look. the fat makes for interesting transmogs. also druid form are amazing.
  • DI dwarf, the burning beard was what sold it to me.
  • mecha gnomes, robots = cool.

for horde:

  • zandalar, just the druid forms.
  • nightborne, they look pretty sweet. not a fan of how some of the head transmogs look super weird with the ears. heres an example
