Are bad players. Especially dps players. Doing +6 or higher is where the difficulty starts ramping up a lot (especially at 7) and I still see people, a lot of the time, fighting the tank on DPS despite having good ilvl and not interrupting.
But why? why does this happen? It’s endgame content and supposed to be difficulty and even though +6 isn’t even that difficult yet people are slacking super hard at such basic tasks. Is it people just wanting a free carry? Another thing I see is people not knowing mechanics of the bosses like wow, how are you at this key level and dont know basic interactions? A good example of this is Necrotic with cleavers and the boss hook.
I am losing all desire to tank in pugs. I can handle no interrupts but atleast do some darn tootin’ damage…
E: people not knowing when to lust is another especially in dungeons like Stonevault/NW first pack. Its like u have to hold their hand and show them how to play the game.
We cant see it thats why… We need addons to see it. Addons that are not common knowledge… When I do m+ All the name plates are clustered above each other… And for every dungeon and mythic I as a rogue. Is expected to know every single kick and interrupt it before it goes off… I have like 3 seconds to see trough all the name plates and click the dude that needs to be kicked and kick him in the balls.
I cant speak for everyone who plays dps… But I at least. Just dont have the right addons that lets me see all the enemies casting bar and kick them in time.
There should be a list seriously xD of all the mandatory addons for m+
And world hunger is solved by producing more food. What was the point of this post? Obviously everything is easier in a premade/friends and pugs are random but that doesn’t explain why the average level of a pug player is that terrible in mid level keys where u are expected to know basic tasks.
Does that explain fighting the tank on DPS though?
Also, u said that they are not common knowledge addons but sorting by “Top” in CurseForge right now and DBM is 2nd with Plater at 6th place. One addon that will scream at you with honking alarms what to do or when to interrupt and the other one lets you fix ur plates.

I joined a group on my healer on stonevault 7. The tank didn’t press a defensive on the tank buster and got one shot. He yells: healer!
I say… wtf pop a defensive you got one shot.
He tried to use the excuse of the debuff, but he didn’t have the debuff yet. Also given this week has the horrible xalatha’s guile debuff that must be dispelled or healed. Still with one defensive he can prevent the one shot.
The dps broke all spikes at once. Big aoe damage. No one dispelled guile. I am having to heal this through it. The hunter who never pressed a defensive dies and leaves and whispers me to uninstall before logging off.
Like… you can’t make this stuff up.
These people are simply clueless but know so little they think they are right.
Btw i went in again with a different group after and it went fine cause people actually helped a bit. Still lacking a lot but the tank wasn’t getting one shot so i managed.
There are several issues in how WoW mechanics aren’t clear and visible. But, the game allowed them to get that far without learning.
The one pet peeve i have are the overused swirlies whose edges are designed to not be clear. I don’t know who designs these things, but it’s not great.
Heck even then, everytime i see a soak circle in lfr and the person runs away with it still baffles me. I don’t know what the solution to this problem is.
I know people won’t like to hear it but the difficulty and complexity has to go down a peg. I like it, but clearly it’s too much for most players.
Meh…the same people complaining about bad players, are the folks selling boosts.
They created the monster in the room, for a bank full of gold…then they complain about the monster, spoiling their further progression.
Real tip: if you’re doing dungeons under 10, invite people with main score 2.5k+ that are gearing their alts. When I make a new char and start gearing I found out that the difference is knowledge is that big, that even if they do not know the spec so well to pump dps, they will be able to do tactics.
Standardize the markers like FFXIV does.
Wow uses custom markers and animations for every single mob and spell ability. And unless you read a guide or done it before you don’t know what the markers mean.
If it was all standard with the same indicators every time, stuff would be a lot smoother
In communities its even worse because you cant even leave suchvhorrible group because they will report you and you will be kicked for refusing to carry garbage players.
Mate if i join like like a +5 and on Boss i see mage doing 170k dps while im as tank are on 300k ? Yeah this run is going nowhere a you just gotta bail instantly .
Quazii has a really good plater profile that’s completely free to use. It color codes the different bars so you know beforehand what mob is gonna be casting something so you can target them before the cast is even being made.
Not with the first cast when there’s nothing to dispel yet. The trash usually makes me use my only external on someone and it makes more sense for the tank to save a CD for it.
