The casual player content in WoW is way too easy

If they do that there be new topic on why WoW is so hard compared to X . There is a World boss in Ohnara that kills lower geared players with every spell and people hate it. Try doing it in a group and look at chats…

well gw2 has something called ‘‘meta’’ which is an open world group content .primal storm things are close but they’re so rare and useless that you don’t want to farm them after a certain point.

I Liked Primal storms but as you said they got useless quickly.

i always said it and will keep saying it ,they need to add legendary crafting that will be accountbound , you’re gonna need to do it once and it will be just an alternative not better, not worse . but people are so against of the idea of legendary crafting thanks to blizzard…

i mean, pls lets no compare the primal storm events to the events in gw2, even the simple events in gw2 hav a 2nd event and impact on the world if the event is not completed or failed

The intention is there, like the keep assault with the scort and so… but not even close.

And the worse part is that even anet managed* to keep the old zones relevant for farming and account completion, therefore there are intentions and effort to scalate propperly the mobs and how u deal with them.

I dont think wow devs hav that kind of vision or intentions ever to do that, they aldy had the opportunity when they rewamped the lvl scaling in outworld and they messed even more with it, just see players lvling and being forced to play bfa or the exp in turn once they ding certain lvl.

Rlly a shame

well but they kinda had to since it’s a horizontal progressing game, first expansion’s specs are still relevant, even some default ones so i can’t blame blizz for focusing on the latest content but yeah, old zones need more attention. some people are saying it’s gonna be a soft revamp like a few textures at a time without any big announcement or cata style revamp but i’d prefer a big one tbh

Just imagine how cool would be the wow outworld if it hav the event system that gw2 has, and with that i mean the mats-vendor system and all the things…

I mean, at least now in would be less ppl in valdraken if we had 10-15 events in all dragon isles rotating and giving rewards, ppl flying from event to event with their dragons rushing and farming non-stop like they do now in the new isle, rlly so sad to see it.

it would be awesome, the key is making rewards useful

Umm, yes. At the moment, the Classic crowd is in Wrath rather than Classic proper, so I’d advise you to start there.

ONE of the key factors in what you complain about is scaling.

Scaling is evil. Scaling is an abomination. Scaling destroyed the soul of this game,

Scaling means that EVERY SINGLE mob you meet while levelling is at your level, and an equal challenge for you - or equal non-challenge. It is desperately boring. It also messes things up at max level as well, but in a more complicated way.

Scaling was introduced 3 expansions ago, in Legion. Classic, TBC, and Wrath are mercifully untouched by it.

In those Classic expansions, you find monsters who will eat you for breakfast without having to pick their teeth. Make a Human, level to 7, and try to take on Hogger in Ellwyn Forest! Don’t worry; the quests will lead you to him. :imp:

You will see Green Quests (a bit too easy), Yellow Quests (just right), Orange Quests (better have a potion ready), and Red Quests (make your Will before you go).

It’s a different framework.

Actualy it is fun. I like in how in classic mana is actualy resource what you have to care about and account for before you make your pull.

Retail is too fast, classic is too slow.
They need a middle-ground.
Also scaling needs to be an opt-in/opt-out toggle, cause that also causes some issues with feeling like you get more powerful or like you are weaker than some mobs etc…

Well its actualy easy. You dont cutter to everyone. Cuttering to everyone is exact reason why wow in such bad shape.

Think participation trophies and you will know why its easy

And not catering to everyone is the reason why Wildstar is dead.

WoW became popular because it was easy;
simple skills
simple mechanics
Get gear and/or levels to overcome obstacles

2004 there was nothing else like it. Many tried emulating but here we are nearly 20 years on and wow is still going.

I think the balance they had when they introduced scaling in old world and we had a squish was the time it felt good.

I was leveling my shaman at the time on elemental, and while I could dispatch a single enemy in the plaguelands with ease if I pulled multiple undead (4+) then I had to use cooldowns, CC and earth elemental to be able to handle them all.

That was before they started adjusting the numbers again. It felt fine, though that may be because I am an experienced player. I did not play ele before that (only for a short time in wotlk) but I read my abilities and looked into my rotation. Others may have struggled with the pulls I did.

Would have been fun if there was a possibility to turn the entire open world into hardcore.

Everything is the same but much harder.

WoW isn’t in the peak years anymore, Blizz can’t afford to tell a sizable portion of their remaining players “Get good or get out”.

Also, concerning your previous post: Mana breaks were a drag, things are too fast now (“Dungeon run” is now a literal term, only need to stop running for a boss), but going back to planning every pull, mana breaks and stuff would be positively terrible.

Pretty much. Best feature for the past 3 years now.

Anyway, I sorta love the idea of primal storms for example. Back in pre-patch they were all over the world and you could level from 1. The issue? Nobody was talking ever. Though at the same time, people could and absolutely did die. Yet they kept coming back. Kept on leveling or collecting this or that currency. I wish they were more relevant and the game was harder in a way that at the same time it would encourage the community to chat and help each other. If anyone’s familiar with eureka in that other mmo, say whatever you want but that was my favorite time in an mmo ever because of the stuff above.

There can be for example fun tougher rares with a mount drop or a pretty cosmetic, secret enemies with something cool that’d drop the first time you kill them. So much more can be done if they want to(and have the time considering the recent loss of people in the dev team). Not everything has to be able to slaughter you and that’s fine, we’re beyond that point since everyone’s favorite wrath. The maw was a fun concept they could have developed on for example. That being said if anything gets changed or added a big % of the community is motivated by rewards exclusively. So any such changes would have to lead to new rewards, however small or big they are so people would engage at all.
