The class with the best 'toys' and features is

…the thing I am asking about in this thread.

I’m looking to try and find a new class to level while BFA content is still lacklustre, and possibly make into a new main. I am happy with both melee and caster gameplay, so what I’m more interested in thinking about are class “toys”/“features” rather than strict gameplay viability (I only really do arenas anyway).

The three classes that have me interested are DK (this character), rogue and mage.

I am wondering which one of these classes people think have the best ‘toys’ and fun features to mess abotu with when I’m not doing “real content”.

At a glance I’ve found…

  • DK - Ghoul that can be glyphed to appearance, cool order hall, good OH campaign, walks on water.
  • Mage - Portals, all-language spell
  • Rogue - Pickpocketing, secret rewards, cool order hall, good OH campaign, rogue-specific legendary dagger questline, stealth, etc.

The only gameplay thing I am really worried about is solo WQs so… what do people think? Am I right to think that Rogues are the way to go for me? :open_mouth:

The most? Druid. No other class comes really even close. You have classhall portals to Dalaran and certain parts of Azeroth, and you have a skill to get to classhall with no cd, unlike hearthstone. Stealth ability, tank spec, instant flight/travelform etc… They will absolutely solo WQ’s wether it’s guardian, feral, balance or even resto.

Why would you be worried about solo WQ? Once you get a little gear, like 350 even, any class can handle WQ easily, except the few raid-group ones, and you can get a group for those manually or with addons even now, if you actually need to do them. I think I’ve only done a few - I don’t avoid them, but I rarely need them. Mage certainly has no problems, and if mage has no problems, nothing else is likely to. If you really want to take on things like those raid-group WQ or the bigger Arathi elites solo, a tank class will be better until you get gear, but there is no need to do those solo when groups are all the time.

So don’t get hung up on what can solo WQ, of all things. Solo dungeons and the big elites, yes, for that you want a tank, but anything can do WQ.

Order Halls and their campaigns are really not going to provide as much content as you think for very long, I’m afraid. Most of the OH content was good, but at 120, and after removing artefact progression, it’s not what it was.

You’ve got Rogue’s priorities all wrong. Stealth is so big, it eclipses everything else. Yes, Druid has it as well, but with drawbacks.

Druid is your Swiss Army Knife, of course.

You could take a look at Warlock as well. It’s about the only class that has retained some of its utility and variety, and as a pet class, it’s well above most pure DPS classes for soloing and survivability.

But the three you have named are all very different, and all offer interesting choices to people who want that fantasy. Follow your fantasy and try one out; it’s not a lifetime contract.
