There is another flaw with Felguards interrupt that you didnt mention.
ITS 30 SECONDS LONG!!
Why is this even the case?! Every single time something comes out like delvs with zekvir (which is fine tuned for players cds) We demolonogly warlocks have no way of actually being able to do the boss as we will pretty much always be 6 seconds to late! (Mayority of interrupts are at 24 seconds)
The Fel hunter can still do this. It heals itself and regains some energy when it does this succesfully.
Other wise your post is pretty well put in what is needed to be done for demo.
Except of course, return metamorphosis back to us
Yes, I macraded it to use it without losing too much demonic fury. The funny thing is that after having improved the spell graphically, shortly after it was completely eliminated from the game.
P.s. a memory from many years ago came to mind, I and other warlocks were exchanging ideas with a mythological developer with a name that begins with X, and explained to us that for destruction they were implementing the âCataclysmâ spell which involved an instant cast and a sort of aura around the caster. Anyone within a few yards of the caster would get a debuff and after a few stacks an explosion would knock everyone away from the warlock, as well as stun for 3 seconds. A talent that has mage frost practicallyâŚ
Well you didnt mention that its a problem that its 30 second long, only mentioned that IT IS 30 seconds long.
I have had multiple moment where i literally cant play demo because its dps wouldnt cover up the fact you cant interrupt as regularly as other classes.
I suffered a lot when they removed the PvP Call Felhunter talent for Demonology, and in DF beta when they added the spell lock to the talents I had a huge smile for a week (thatâs how long it lastedâŚ). Honestly, I would gladly trade the spell lock instead of the grimoire stun: felguard. The blizzard explanation that they removed it because âdemonology has a lot of CCâ fails when you see the toolkit of a rogue or an unholy dh
In any case, in 2024 having to still pray for the baseline spell lock in the caster is depressing
It temps of just raw CC abilities, we have tons of them. Problem is, our CC is not very effective in current gameplay rhythm.
Demo has access to 3 stuns - Main FG stun, stun of FG from Grimoire and Shadowfury.
Cast nature of Shadowfury is already a problem in the world of interrupt/silence craft.
FG from a grimoire has 2 MIN CD and is also a DPS cooldown, so we have to choice of using that FG in our burst rotation or spare him for CC needs - no other class has this level of BS.
And we have our main FG and his stun is needed as an interrupt most of the times.
And on top of that, hardcast nature of Demo doesnât allow it to use most of the stuns like rogues or DKs can, for them to use an ability is just a press of the button with zero worries about interrupt, and all their spells is just matter of GCD.
Our second line of CCs is Fear, howl of terror and Seduction.
Fear is fine as it is.
Howl is mostly good but only in Diabolist Hero talent.
Seduction is used by Succubus whom doesnât see much play because seduction is less important than interrupt of spell lock. and on top of that seduction forces succubus to stop all DPS in order to channel her spell.
Our third line of CCs is slows. Which is Curse of Exhaustion, Shadow flame and whiplash(succubus).
On the general note, most of the melee donât freaking care about the slows these days, and big chunk of Casters could ignore it as well.
Curse is fine, only sad thing that we need to pick up our curses via talent.
Shadowflame is just a joke - who need a cone short range slow when you have curse for that?
Succubus - the same problem really, with the need or interrupt her whiplash is just outclassed by the value of Spell lock of Felhunter.
Also who thought that It is a good idea to bake Succubus damage increase debuff on whiplash? Never heard of lash of pain or never played with succubus beforeâŚhuh @Devs?
