I play as a tank and tried to do the Dawnbreaker with the followers. The problem is, on the last boss the followers are not moving away with the acid lines, they damage other followers with it and the follower healer is not able to heal it through. Am I doing something wrong or is it just so problematic?
I can’t speak for that particular dungeon, but I think the problem is caused by something else, that is not the players fault.
I have noticed a general problem with follower behavior in dungeons and delves. I am not 100% sure, but I think the A.I doesn’t know how to react to ground effects, frontals, etc. It doesn’t seem to know it’s own position in relation to where the effects are placed or aimed.
For example in Delves, Brann will call out dangerous spells being cast, even telling you to dodge it. But he doesn’t do it himself, and will often run straight into it at random and die.
Basically, I think the follower A.I doesn’t actually “see” anything in the 3D space, and only responds to triggers from the combat log and HP levels changing.
Same problem on my tank. The AI also drop the web areas under my feet, so I need to move away and that gives big aoe damage if I’m not near the boss. As a tank I also often get that web thing on me to place away from the boss, meaning someone else has to take over and stand closeby, I suppose, but the npcs don’t pick up on that.
But that’s if I get it right, because they often die already on the flight phase before that. And if they survive that part I wait for them to spawn in and BAM hunter starts pulling the second he spawns, starting off with the big aoe damage for noone being near the boss.
I guess the last boss is just a pawn, the followers are the REAL boss you’re fighting against.
