They should have just taken the Drakonid and given them wings to make them big, beefy, powerful looking things that look like they could go toe to toe with an Orc or Dranei. As it is they just look gangly and emaciated, not very formidable. Blizzard could rectify this by adding additional body types which beef them up, rather than the current selection of skinny to athletic.
Imagine a Drakonid with wings as a fury warrior wielding two two-handers - that’s a Dracthyr I’d consider.
Tbh, I kinda feel the same. You can make them look cool, but I don’t see myself playing one as a main, even when" they unlock other classes. I was really hoping for a Drakonid instead.
Drackthyr are weird. They look less like the dragons we know from fantasy and more like furry reptiles( if you look up furry art you will understand). Some people may like that but I find it unappealing.
No, I like them. I don’t like Toran, Trolls, gnomes, dwarves, goblins, vulpera or humans, so I don’t play them.
People seem to react emotionally to things they can’t control, especially if they don’t like them. They don’t like the fact that others might disagree because it ruins their image of what something is meant to be, even though it has never been that.
Instead of just reacting appropriately to something they don’t like, by playing what they do or moving onto a different game. They stick around for years become bitter and then try to ruin what the IP is for everyone else because it doesn’t meet their perceived standard as they sit there wishing past events turned out differently.
No, even if they could be warlocks, I wouldn’t play them. The classes aren’t a problem; I find them boring or ugly. Though they allow others to play out their fantasy in the game, I’m glad it’s there. What other people like doesn’t impact my experience in the game. What I don’t do is wish for things to be different, as it leads people to be incredibly bitter about something they would otherwise enjoy. Not everything in the game is for me. I did raids/mythic dungeons when I was younger, and as I got older, I wanted them less due to my mental state and lifestyle changes. Now, I prefer crafting, open-world content, the levelling experience and questing as I find it relaxing.
I learned to chill out and enjoy the game a lot because of it. The FOMO left, the pressure to follow the META left, the stress of gearing left, and I just learned to enjoy the experience for it. It allows me to take breaks or go into tunnelled focus where I am up till 4 a.m. trying to collect things or level a new character. I am now levelling up in every class and going through each zone again at my own pace via Chrome Time with Xp removed, just enjoying the game.
I can get the new expansion on sale as I won’t reach it when it comes out, and when I do, a lot of the game improvements will have been implemented in that content for me to enjoy.
That’s the point of this thread.
A race so ugly people don’t even want to play a class they could otherwise enjoy. The race being so god damn ugly takes it all away.
But multiple races can play as a Warlock, so even if you hate Trolls and Taurens, it’s fine because you got yourself a Draenei.
People interested in the Evoker class are stuck with this overwhelmingly disliked lizzard.
They are ugly to me, but that is subjective. Many people enjoy them and find them incredibly cute, pretty or fun and all the power to them. I’m glad someone wants them; not everything should be catered to me.
I had a void elf warlock before Dreanai. I just thought it was excellent character customisation. Other people dislike the Dreanai warlock combo and beleive it should never have happened. If it didn’t occur, nothing would change for me; I would still have my void elf warlock. If I didint have my warlock, I would play my shadow priest.
Also, I wouldn’t say I like a lot of classes. I don’t like rouge, warrior, monk, or demon hunter. Is some of that due to the aesthetic of that fantasy? Yes, but I wouldn’t ask for it to change when so many other people enjoy it as it is. Am I interested in the concepts of those classes? Yes, but I don’t need them to change when they already provide a meaningful and fun experience to someone else.
The only way I would want that to change is if it didn’t alienate already established players enjoying that fantasy and class by taking away something meaningful from them. They could certainly add to the experience of the Dracthyr, which could welcome people into that fantasy. Still, a lot of these threads, especially in Wow, boil down to someone playing a race or class person A dislikes, so they have to go out of their way to ruin person B’s fun because person A is jealous of person B even though they have a lot of stuff already.
I love everything about the evoker class, preservation in particular. It’s such a fun and unique healer. It would be my main in an instant, if not for that damned lizard form. I tried to convince myself that they don’t look too bad. When that didn’t work, I tried to get around it with consumables. Then I tried to convince myself there would be a special dracthyr form in the reopened mage tower.
In the end I just gave up on the class, and that’s a damn shame. Still holding out hope for a glyph for permanent visage form, or at least a decent looking dragon form
