Is it possible to take the buff off? Seems like they are really trying to put players like myself off the game if its not. Things like this should always be optional.
If you feel youâre leveling too fast, look up the level locking NPCS that exist in each capital city. I use the one in Stormwind all the time for my Chromie Time character.
As an altoholic iâm very disappointed that it stops after your 5th character so the maximum is just 25%. As previously mentioned you can turn XP gains off in game so should you wish to do so but capping it at 25% is very lacklustre. At least 50% would have been a nice even ground.

I already do lock experience, but itâs just a lot of hassle to constantly run back and forth to lock and unlock.
Given how stupidly fast leveling is by default makes the whole situation is even worse. It feels stupid as hell.
Blizzard keeps talking about how they want to appeal to various audiences yet they still keep focusing only on endgamers, raiders, e-sports etc, and perhaps story/lore lovers.
Surely it wouldnât have been hard to implement a sort of legacy/classic mode where the game doesnât push you towards max? If they could add timewalking, than what i ask is small and easily done.
Losing faith in Blizz by the day tbh.

Got to ask what changes from 70 to 80⌠Mobs scale so not sure what the issue is here? Do you have to stop questing at 80 or something?
Yes, but the character is no longer lvling, no longer progressing in the world, an important factor of an RPG. Then there is the issue of legacy scaling for older contentâŚ1 shotting everything by doing 1000000% of mobs health in damage takes away any immersion.
Thatâs why a ââclassicââ mode or improving timewalking, would be a solution and players like myself could actually play the game.
Itâs a bit ironic actually, they added timewalking to experience older content yet you canât actually experience it because leveling is too fast, youâre all leveled up before even finishing a fraction of the ââtimelineââ, effectively making the feature pointless in everything except dungeons and raids.
Locking exp is not even a bandaid, because to get the same experience, sense of character ââprogressionââ you literally have to like lock and unlock every so many quests. It just feels silly as hell, not to mention the time spent on running to the NPC.

This is something I wished for for a long time now. Some kind of optional EXP-Debuff or at least to turn off the buffs. For some reason I just like having a longer level phase sometimes when I level an alt just for âthe journeyâ.

I agree, itâs so off putting. I wanted to level in Outland, excited to go through the story there, full immersion mode. Then i got to the part where i gotta kill some supposedly threatening Demons of the Burning Legion, and i just end up 1 shotting everything with slam. I even unequipped most of my gear, and what was left of it was green weak gear. Still 1 shotted everything.
Then i just gave up, because the lack of a threat while leveling is way too boring and doesnât fit at all with the story of the zone.
I leveled tooons of characters. I do same quests on tooons characters. And i really have enough leveling. And i really hate leveling system here. Its boring and time consuming. We have just wall of boring text without dubbing. Another mmos like swtor or gw2 have fully dubbinged quests and its more immersive. I love to do more interesting content like m+ or sometime pvp in wow. I have every wow book, i am veteran of w3 so i dont care about this lore ingame. I really enioying all exp bonuses, all exp events like darkmoon faire, all items like herilooms. Maybe fresh players can enjoy this but not me. Luckily i leveled every classes in both factions on mop remix so i am so happy. Now you saying its easy but you will see how easy and ,interesting" will be repeat all same quests, dungeons on another characters.
