My friends and i were excited for the launch last night and was planning to level a few levels before going to bed. After experiencing the launch not being able to long inn or even create a character we all went to bed. Now when we try to make characters on the same realm, some of us get to make characters and other dont.

How are we meant to play together on the same realm if you are enfocing a faction balance when one of the factions are always more popular then the other?

I have to say that this is a really dumb way of trying to solve a issue. Making the other faction more appealing would be a better way to solve the issue then forcing the playerbase to play something that they do not enjoy.

I guess all we can do now is wait and try again later and see if we are able to create a character later, if you want as many players as possible to play the game then this is not the way to do it. I bet there will be people like us that does not have the same level of excitment and will just not bother and move on to other things. It is really a bummer because we were looking forward to trying this out together as a group of friends but now many of us cannot join and has to wait.
This will always be a no win for Blizzard, if servers over time become more populated by one faction compared to the other then people come here and complain that server has faction imbalance and then what usually happens is people, of the less populated faction, to leave the server in mass to go to another server, over time i have seen this create the mono faction servers…now Blizzard is trying a solution, maybe not the best but 1 is better than 0, to try to avoid faction unbalance and still people aren’t happy.
No matter what they will do Blizzard will always be criticized and as i said a now win for them as people are never happy.
Go to PvE or play minority faction. It is only lvl 25 cap.
Every person thinking at least 2 steps aheard knew PvP realm balancing was going to be a s#€t show. Yet majority went there regardless. Go to PvE or have 2 accounts each for different faction of the same realm (no kidding just go to PvE…oh wait there are maximal queues there as well.)
Like what? Give every faction same racials? Cool, but people would start to prefer Alliance even more I guess.
The only true solution is FFA wPvP, where same faction members are considered neutral, but can attack each other and susceptibile to friendly fire, except for party/raid/guild members.
Wait for better solution on Blizzard behalf. Meanwhile go to PvE or invade RP-PvP as many fake RPers did 
It would have been good to release both RPPVP servers together and name one as Alliance and one as Horde, then link them both together. That way you can see how many of each faction there is imho. The. If they fill up, release another couple and always link the 2 that are closely matched with active players?
I’m sure they’ll be downsides to my opinion but I currently think it would work.

Why dont you jist choose the opposite faction then? I mean if you are playing together, does it really matters if you go Horde or Alliance?
Last time Blizz didnt balanced the servers ppl we’re yelling how unplayable it is, and how its Horde / Alliance dominated.
Now you complain about them actually doing something to balance the servers?

They had to allow to create characters on same faction if friends are on bnet friendlist or something.
People will never be happy no matter what Blizzard does, i mean i have criticized Blizzard many times in the times in the past but i have to say that part of WoW’s issues it’s his own community.
Plus i love some of them come here to the forums to demand stuff and unless they get it they say they are stopping the subscription and moving on to private servers…sure, like private servers are any better.

If Blizzard didn’t try to implement some sort of balance, people would complain about how their faction is always outnumbered/dead and how the PvP event sucks etc. and how they now HAVE to reroll on the other faction.
If they control the faction population, people will complain about not being able to play with all their friends…
I guess it depends on what realm you try. If it is Living Flame or another one. I got into a locked faction on Lone Wolf by just repeatedly trying throughout the day, and that was about two weeks ago.
