'The Fall of the Sunwell' is VERY bugged

If we are lucky, it will be solved in 10 years time.

For anyone looking at this in 2025 and after, being careful to keep the Magisters alive worked for me on my second attempt.

I thought it bugged a second time, but as the final magister took their predefined place (took them a while to run there), kael’thas immediately progresed the encounter.

April 2025. The bug is still there. The whole scenario seems off (lvl 70, mobs far too strong…). at the end: guide Kaelthas to the sunwell. He just stands there, doing nothing.

still buggy… did it 3 times doesnt matter… buggy.

April 27th 2025 and the quest is still bugged for years. Surely it can’t be that hard to fix for a multi billion dollar company.

May 10th 2025. Unsurprisingly, still bugged.

June 2 2025, still bugged had to try multiple times as well

Still there…

Why is this not being fixed? It’s ridiculous. It’s so sad …

Still bugged. I’m not doing this again and again. Blizzard can come give me the quest credit and fix their terrible game. Their ineptitude will not cost me an entire evening of retrying.

I appreciate your frustration Aelunaelia, but there is no need to keep trying and we are aware that it is still bugged.

I would instead recommend keeping an eye on the support article linked previously, which we will update when that changes.

Some safeguards are currently planned for the 11.2 content update, which we hope will help with this!

Officially known issue since 5 months. Has there been any progress, or has anyone found a way to make it work? I tried several times with no luck.

Update: The real issue and cause for the failure is—even though the game does not tell you so—you let any of the magisters die. If you do, the Scenario just can’t continue, with no warning. Lor’themar does tell you to “Protect the magisters at all costs!” but there is no actual indication on the UI what you have to do and that you’ve failed. The last portion is especially hard given the fearing mobs and their high damage output. It’s difficult, but can be done (you might have to swap specs—I couldn’t do it on Holy even if I can heal the NPCs, had to bite the bullet and go for Shadow on this one for Fear interrupts and to burn the mobs down ASAP, did it first try). Once you treat is as some sort of challenge and not a bugged Scenario, it’s better but still needs fixing.

So, the real bug is the lack of communication on the game’s side for a badly designed and implemented, and poorly communicated bit of gameplay. It could work, but as it is, it just doesn’t and it’s very inconsistent for the type of content it’s the part of.

still bugged. except i get arthas standing there

Hi Yryadorne,

I reported a couple of bugs in the past but the bug reporting UI is very basic. It comes with a tight character limit and we cannot submit screenshots or logs. It also does not have a template, which would be very useful for people who have never seen a proper bug report before. Can you please improve the form?

Thanks!

We don’t have any plan at the moment to redo the bug report system, but it could always be improved in the future, if we need to.

The character limitation is by design, if you’re hitting the limit, it usually means that you need to be more concise. You generally don’t need a whole lot to explain a bug (e.g. when I do this thing, nothing happens, YXZ should happen).
