Does it really have to be equipped by the actual character and consume an inventory space ?
it’s being rewarded by quests as ‘profession equipment’ and crafted under ‘profession equipments’ yet it doesn’t have a slot under the fishing journal for whatever odd reason…

but behaves the old way rather than how the new prof equipments behave.
Yeah I though it was weird.
In fact, I didn’t even know it existed since the fishing profession window only allows equiping of the fishing pole. Then at some point I recalled “wasn’t there one quest offering other fishing gear?”. I started to search and discovered that, indeed, you can can craft a fishing hat.
Its odd.
