The game Freezes both screens in the same places , in Open World and Dungeons and Raids

Hello, since I started playing on the TWW expansion I get in more or less the same places in WoW Freeze which freezes my 2nd screen as well, sometimes after the freeze also my resolution and graphics will change, the UI goes off screen. I have tried everything and have no idea what could be wrong anymore.
Note: On the same hardware on the Dragonflight expansion pack freeze never occurred.

All Drivers up to date, BIOS up to date, Windows 10 up to date, battle net client and game completely uninstalled and reinstalled, 0 addons, graphics on the lowest possible.

Hardware:

  • RTX 3080 12GB GamingPro Palit
  • Ryzen 7 5800 x3d
  • 32GB Ram - Patriot 32GB (4x8GB) 3600MHz CL14 Viper Steel
  • Motherboard - Asus ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING
  • M2 SSD - Samsung 980 1TB
  • 2 Screens: LG 2560x1440p 165Hz and AOC 1920x1080p 120Hz (Main WoW screen is LG 2560x1440p 165Hz)

Places where Freeze occurs every time:

  • Orgrimar - the place with all teleports.
  • Grim Batol - Last Boss when he uses the ‘Shadow Gale’ mechanic.
  • Ara-Kara - First Boss when he uses the mechanic after killing the adds.
    And many other places.

I attach Video if it helps. Please any hints if it’s an issue on my side or not because I’ve tried everything… (I wanted to add DxDiag as well but I don’t know how to add it here)
In other games this issue does not occur despite the Ultra Graphics setting in titles such as New World, Throne and Liberty, Valorant and Apex Legends.

Thanks and Regards.

Freeze Orgrimmar teleports

i noticed in your video that you use Dx12 so i was wondering if you have tried setting it to Dx11 and see if that helps?
i know there have been some issues in the past with Dx12 but i dont know if that is fixed atm.
the second thing is that your 2 screens is running different refresh rate and was wondering if you have testet it when they both run the same refresh rate and maybe same resolution.

Yo, yes, you were right, changing the refresh rate of both monitors to the same solved the issue.

Changing the resolution would rather not make sense because I have a smaller second monitor so wow would look mediocre with a lower resolution on a larger screen.

Thanks a lot <3 since I changed the refresh rate so far I haven’t had a freeze once. Problem solved!

awesome that you resolved the issue :sunglasses:

Update:
None of the above mentioned ways unfortunately did not help, I still get freezes. Changing to dx11 also did not help…

Maybe something is wrong with my hardware because playing New World for a longer time I also get freezes so it seems to me that it is my hardware that is defective because I have tried probably everything and nothing helped.

The Ara-Kara key is impossible to play on my hardware, I get on this dungeon the most and most often freezes.

If I ever manage to solve this problem, if this thread lives, I’ll let you know, but it seems to me that until I change my hardware it’s the end of being a hardcore gamer… :dracthyr_cry_animated:

Update#2:
I solved the freezing issue on my computer, unfortunately I don’t know which exact step helped me but after doing these last 4 steps I haven’t experienced a freeze even once:

  1. I deleted everything from the ‘Temp’ folder.

  2. I checked windows using the command ‘sfc /scannow’ in cmd, the command launches a tool to check system files. (The command found an issue and fixed it, scanning a second time did not detect any errors).

  3. I increased the Virtual Memory using the C drive.

  4. I updated the CPU Chipset driver, I had downloaded the driver from the main page of my motherboard but it turned out that on the original AMD page there was a newer driver.

It seems to me that either step 2 or 4 helped me solve the Freezes problem.
May these steps help at least one person. The thread can be closed.

Best regards, Namphi
