The game is designed entirely around wasting time rather than spending it playing

The waiting for respawns may be your realm or the times you play. On Ravencrest, at peak times, the spawn rate is so fast that you have to move away so the mobs you killed don’t respawn on top of you.

Yes and they double down on that in SL - both via the systems during end game and via the rares for collectors.

For the former, we all know about the list of chores you gotta keep up with and how they all splash down on you at once if you roll an alt. But there is the vault situation - I would say that the current m+ season with its more polished affixes and cool seasonal one is pretty good but that hardly matters when the vault literally tells you “do 10 runs per week or you are being suboptimal in your progress”. Most people would get fed up with that kind of spam.

For the latter, rares are now not only with long respawns with questionable drop rates. They are also covenant/spec dependent so its possible u could be farming something in vain if you dont get those right. Asmongold she some good light on the topic on how daggers no longer drop for his warrior under the current system (if he wishes to learn a mog). There are also rares that are incredibly obnoxious to spawn to also realize their drop chances are like less than 1%(like the mix ones in Maldraxxus or the one where you gotta rescue 50 dredgers in Revendreth)

Yes, you can understand that from some quests designed to make waste time as much as possible. So that they can announce them precious engagement metrics in quarterly reports. I just wonder if developers think thank we are stupid and we wont realize.

I don’t want to sound mean but you’re pushing at an open door, we all know that WoW for the past few years has been about wasting the time of its players for the sake of MAU.

They’re getting you back in with fake hype and BS but now a lot more people are aware of that so hopefully Blizzard will have to change direction, hopefully :copium:

How would that work to make it viable .

No really the do not i am on like 60 kills for Necro/Vent/Kyrian mounts they are not easy drops at all .

It is just as bad as them it should be like Argus system .

Nobody complained at all as it was a once per day thing you could do and move on it was a great system . You kill ,loot and go and sort gear out later you do not stand there checking things out .

People loved the system its been the best we have had for rares a vast improvement over mop and wod rares finally a middle ground .

Worthless comment that is just spew. Please explain how it’s 10 times worse than Mechagon & Nazjatar?

In Korthia:

  • The mount drops are 3-5%, with the exception of Covenant mounts that are 1-3%.
  • The spawn rates are crazy fast. I have never waited for something more than 20 min on my realm without hopping / using the LFG tool.

In Mechagon & Nazjatar:

  • The spawn rate of Rustfeather and Arachnoid harvester was minimum 1 hour at release (it got nerfed later to be 30 min - 1 hour) and the drop chance of the mount was 0.5 % which is 1 in 200 or atleast 6-9 times worse than Korthia moubts.
  • The spawn rate of Soundless IS up to 8 HOURS for a 0.5 % drop chance, and don’t even forget that it can spawn at different locations.

So I’m assuming you’re the drunk one. I’m just telling facts.

Wow, that’s quite unlucky to be honest. The longest one for me was the Kyrian one and I got it in like 40 attempts. Rest dropped within 10-25 attempts.

M0 it works. m+ it works by having replacements available with time-pause while waiting

and i got sha from 2 kills so what? rng…

Every mmorpg is designed so that you can waste time on it instead of sitting idly and crying about your real life problems .

The NF one took me 39 attempts :frowning: and btw you have a very nice collection well done .

And people will play it once maybe twice and stop anyway. GJ you just wasted resources. PvP has to have meaingfull progression and has to be fun before you start adding new content.

And I’m still farming drake mounts from Dragon souls. So how I got out of content? I still don’t have that mount! I don’t do msot of new content because it take too much time compare to reward that give to me in power and cosmetic. Even now I’m using old classic/tbc items to make a transmog because they are more interesting and easier to get than those from Shadowlands or BFA.

well not everyone plays the game for the same reasons you do. hunting achievements and mounts is irrelevant to me (and many others). I only speak for myself obviously but twitch and youtube channel popularity is a good indicator of what most people find interesting, and the braindead grind aspects of WoW are not among the top 10 to say the least.

I ended 9.2 patch content in 4 weeks only because of timelock, I can end it under one week. There is nothing to do in 9.2 and never mentioned to be. They only content that was added was raid and few quest in Korthia. Every game that is not competative like shoters or moba are about cosmetics. You are playing Masive Multiplayer Online Roleplay Game, MMORPG is meantioned to be build around character creation so cosmetics, titles are big part of this.

Easy - matched with players of similar +/- 200 M+ rating, or alternatively, “completed M+ of similar level” or any other match-making system, possibly customizable. You have a key, let’s say 15+ HoA, you “queue with a key”, other people queue without a key and the best picks are queued with you into a dungeon that insta starts - leaving gives you a 5h deserter if you leave before timer runs out so you don’t leave and join another if you don’t like picks. You complete or if you fail, people are free to leave. Or complete if they like.

Yeah ofcourse RNG is RNG, but just saying that he’s quite on the unlucky side of RNG if he has none so far after 60 attempts.

Thanks <3

is it though ? you have to ask yourself if extra 5 % of dps / performence is worth investing hours upon hours .

the answer should be easy - do you plan to push mythic raiding on that toon ? then it may be worth it.

if not ? its completly optional content. you can clear everything in game without farming it too. if you are good enough.

you dont need a single conduit or socket from it if you dont mythic raid.

so its just a nice side content - just like covenant stuff.

dont like it ? dont do it.

ill give you example of this mine alt. its 240 with complete garbage conduits and 0 sockets and its still doing 17/18s already . if i botherd to farm VP i could probably bump it to like 245 and do 19s. but i cba to do anything more then 4 dungeons a week . and im really bad at avoiding stuff on it :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: so im definetly not that good player.

Korthia is a perfect example of what is wrong with the game and an example of where their philosophy has turned nasty.

Let’s understand what Korthia is. It’s a massive time sink. Is that a bad thing in an MMO? MMOs are based around grinds to improve your character after all. So the answer, on the face of it, is no, time sinks are not a bad thing in an MMO. With an important caveat.

That the time spent results in some sort of meaningful reward.

What is the reward from Korthia?

Conduit upgrades. An abstracted upgrade for an abstract borrowed power system that will exist for this expansion only. If you were a new player coming back in four years say, what reason is there to do Korthia?

Are there any cool transmog rewards you can keep as mementos of your time? Is there a completely unique mount that is a reward for doing the meta as there was in Nazjatar and Mechagon? Is there ANYTHING you can do in Korthia that will give you a reward that in years to come people will look at and go, that guy did Korthia and they’d be impressed you put the effort in.

That’s the fundamental problem with Korthia. It exists in the service of a borrowed power system we all despise and when that borrowed system is removed Korthia will serve no purpose.

A zone like Korthia could exist, but it should have had some big, evergreen rewards to justify it’s existence. Namely, besides the rewards that are important for this tier it should have offered a unique armor set for Plate, Mail, Leather and Cloth (this is the kind of content where armor class sets are perfectly appropriate) AND a unique mount you could only get from doing the meta achievement.

Rating is an awful metric for skill.

The worst group I’ve ever played with so far this season, everyone was 2200+, one player was 2600+. I left the group by the time we killed Ingra. I had to heal more up until Ingra on a +15 than I had to during my whole +17 run in mists.

Awful players.
