Fabulously satirical or unbelievable what was said this past few days. Hopefully the former, Iâd bow down if the Duskwood Community was proven to be an elaborate bamboozle at the end of the day.
Yea and also donât go to SW. Also Silvermoon. Also Redrige. AlsoâŠ
And the list goes on and on. When will people stop caring and just go wherever they like without listening to others?
Well ainât you pleasant.
Man, the most fun Iâve had in Warcraft was when I stopped listening to circle jerking on the forums. âDonât go here, donât go thereâ âthese are badâ etc etc. Just⊠have fun, guys.
You realise that the âDonât go to Duskwoodâ part of that statement was a joke, right? No one can control where you go just like how no one can claim a zone or Declare their word is law in a zone.
some of you are cool, donât go to duskwood tomorrow
You sure that was a joke? Can never be too sure.
Noted, thanks Fam.
Thatâs what they say, yeah. Too bad what -actually- happened is a bunch of allied guilds IC gathering for a meeting to discuss the state of Darkshire IC, which does stand guardless, and that someone should probably take that job.
Spergstorm ensued because another person was very mad that he wasnât present at the meeting OOC, because he claimed his characer was too important to not be there even though he had nothing to do there because he wasnât viewed as an ally, and then started to say that we claimed power there, when that didnât happen. :^)
Recognising that someone needs to be in charge â Claiming power.
The Nightwatch for all I know is still there - in the Legion rogue campaign you exterminate the betrayers, BUT there is there Watcher Ladimore that swears to reform the Night Watch.
Considering Blizzard has not âupdatedâ the zone, and a player without a rogue would be merrily ignorant of what happened there - what they see is a populated town (including NPCs otherwise dead or disappeared in the rogue campaign).
But what is seen in the game is that there is a township.
Now - in my logical deductions stemming from the known lore, Darkshire has been repopulated and the Nightwatch rebuilt, and a new magistrate appointed / elected.
And yes all the time I got there, there is plenty of DKs and Illidari that seem to walk around as if they own the place or they can dictate the law. Alas they seem to miss the point that theyâve absolutely no form of authority, even the less to overrule representatives of the Kingdom within the boundaries of said Kingdom. (Which is Stormwind)
Really wish Blizzard would be clearer on such things, sucks that it takes someone to go to Blizzcon and ask it during a Q&A to actually get it clarified.
just to start this of with a simple statement, i dont have a horse in this race either way, just decided to comment after reading all that was said.
This is the problem. Your guild decided it would gather their allies and decide who would become guards, etc, etc. THAT would work if you were bubble RP-ing in some remote place where noone comes. But seeing you RP in Duskwood, which is home to a large number of guilds, you should of done it publicly, invite ALL guilds who are interested in the discussion/position and THEN have the vote/discussion/whatever you guys did. That way you do it publicly and use numbers to have the vote swing in the way you wish it to go while being transparent and then NOONE can complain. I mean they can, but in that case, their complaints would be void and meaningless.
Another thing, i find it strange that your ZONE RP DISCORD is run like a guild discord. Where people are kicked without reason and not disclosed what happened. My guild is a part of a zone discord and all guild leaders in it have the status of an admin and have full right to view logs and stuff, so its transparent.
Maybe you guys need to rethink what you want to do and try again. Because from what iâm reading here, you did a number of things very wrong.
Recognising that someone needs to be in charge â Claiming power.
No one needs to be incharge though, this isnât an event like the Ogre Island or battle at Darkshore, this is a zone. No one needs to be incharge of a zone. Weâve had hundreds of guilds try to do the same thing with different zones and over and over again, it always ends up with a fight between guilds in the area.
Luckily this never happens in South Durotar so me and my hole are safe.
But what you should have done is invited every guild leader, including your non-allies, to do a representative poll first, to find the candidates. then you should have left it up to the people by hosting another meeting and letting them vote
Except they didnât. Thatâs the point. It wasnât some secret meeting where people got to vote and whatever they decided was law. Thatâs what people think it was, thatâs what people that werenât there are saying.
If you sit in a room with your friends and say âYo, I think someone should run stuff at work, our boss is trash.â youâre perfectly fine to do that, you donât have to invite your boss over to share that discussion with you. And simply saying âYo, Billy can do a better job than him.â doesnât mean Billyâs in charge.
What we shouldâve done was realise earlier that the zone is largely ran by 6 people who twists words and makes stuff up to suit their own narrative and gotten out quicker.
Guys, letâs just forget about all this and start some noble houses in Gilneas. Thatâs never gone wrong before, right?
I will start House Tea-biscuit-mane, we scowl a lot and never actually do anything worthwhile except argue with other lords in a game of thrones fashion. My theme song will be edgy song number 30 and my voice reference Sean Bean.
