The last time I looked at this event (a while ago) it was a charity event only on US servers. 
Oh please don’t give them ideas, they would turn this into a raid if they could !
Resulting in min, maxed, Olympic prepped, buff gnomes everywhere… 
It might be nice if there could be some additional free vendor issued silly costumes to wear, with low/no stats or with free mog buff over white starter gear.
Maybe a Gnomergan decorated balloon, wrist band (bracers), bandages and a VERY… BIG…glass of Merlot for anyone getting to the finishing line ?
(with or without deaths, it is a fun event right ?).
Just did the run today for the first time, got distracted at Goldshire and turned right instead of left and missed 10 x gates !! (via Westfall is the logical route to me lol)
So had to go back and find those.
I didn’t treat it as a speed race, good fun with my gnome running around, grabbing the odd herb, using the bubble toy accompanied by her green balloon and mouse pet (Dangerous Beans) while listening to some 80s music.
I had a decent run with my Mage, and meet a horde in Goldshire masqueraded as a Gnome. I cheered them as I passed, and they mounted up for catching up with me and giving me a hug.
Awk I keep missing this. life keeps getting in the way maybe next time.
