What raid is the best out of them all and why?
if we’re only talking about the ones we experienced when they’re the main raid then
ICC is too iconic so it’s that but i also love serpentshrine cavern .
if we include overall experience with legacy, story gear and raid design then i’d say it’s antorus
For me it was Castle nathria because me and my friends played during lockdown and have some good memories of having more time to play wow. Not gonna lie i hated the expansion after season 1
The raids of WoD
Ulduar is probably the raid that was the most ahead of its time when it came out.
It has everything.
Lore, scenery, dungeon crawling, hardmodes, vehicle encounter, legendary, a train, epic boss quotes, special encounter, and so on.
After that it all got a bit more formulaic with regular-sized raids and symmetrical boss rooms, singular art theme, anonymous bosses, and so on.
Ulduar was the peak, and then it was downhill from there, with a few bumps along the way.
Blackrock Foundry and Hellfire Citadel.
Both in theme, design, and bossfights, they single handedly carried WoD on their backs, and they are the reason why I still think of WoD fondly.
They also changed my view on what makes an expansion enjoyable for me afterall.
I’d rather play an expansion like WoD, where the basics like class design, the raids, and the gameplay were excellent, rather than an expansion like BfA or SL, where seemingly they put in a lot more content, but all of those contents are absolute crap.
Give me a barebone oldschool WoW experience that’s high quality, rather than new shiny features that everyone ends up hating anyway.
Quality > quantity
Ulduar for me. Just loved its atmosphere so much.
That and Karazhan.
Ulduar without second thought.
It was probably the only raid that had any form of depth and mechanical prowess to other raids.
For the fights: Amirdrassil one of the best fights ever designed.
Lore Wise: Icc
I have very fond memories of Aszhara’s Palace, it is the first raid I got ahead of the curve in, and the 2nd ever raid I did when I started playing wow for the first time.
I liked SL raids, they were interesting, same with mythic dungeons
I don’t raid often. Personally I liked Antorus the most.
I loved naxxramas and later hellfire citadel.
but hellfire citadel was probably my favorite.
it was 2 raids that really suited my play style
Karazhan was also really good
Hated the chess game though
Firelands
Throne of Thunder
Siege of Orgrimmar
Battle for dazar’alor
My personal favorites
I loved karazhan was the first time i got epic loot from a raid also i was still in high school so got my food cooked for me for free good times
Gameplay-wise I’d say amirdrassil
Thematically Highmaul
Karazhan, we all know the only answer is Karazhan.
Throne of Thunder, it had quite dark atmosphere. 10/10 raid.
Black Temple, Karazhan, The Eye, Ice Crown Citadel, Nighthold, Nathria and Amirdrassil if you leave that horrible ending cinemtatic and conclusion out of it.
*With Black Temple, Karazhan and ICC music never going to be succeeded by anything that came after.
visually I would say Nyalotha is the best for me.
Also Black Temple, Firelands, ICC, Tomb of Sargeras, antorus the burning throne, Castle Nathria
