The Nightborne, the former Highborne and denizens of the 2nd biggest Highborne cities cannot call themselves a Highborne, but a Blood elves who accepted the fel magic to lower their mana addiction, and void elves who have completely have lost their “Blood elven” nature to satisfy their void lords can call themselves a High Elves.
But why cannot the Nightborne call themselves a Highborne just because they have turned to Nightwell to survive?
What makes us different? From those who changed their “magicwells” to survive but, somehow still have the right to have the title of Highelf.
The questions are for the people who really know the lore, not for those

How many times did people explain this very simple lore piece to you. At this point you’re just trolling.

Didn’t I tell you that the question is for the People who know the lore?
The only one ignoring lore is you, many others and me among them have tried to explain it to you. Maybe, you just wish that the lore was written more to cater to your delusion but it isn’t and now you’re throwing a fit. How adorable.
Stop talking you lowborn scum. No one asked you anything.
Nightborne are highborne
When blizzard changes the playable models to not look like pure night elf clones, maybe ill change my mind

“wE hAvE JewElery = HighBorne” Lunaera, the thick logic
Ignore the fanatic from above, and please give me reliable answers and sources.
No seriously Mclovin, I don’t understand this.
Just because we have evolved and we have turned to Nightwell we cannot call ourselves Highborne.
But the ones who also did the same can.
Where is the logic ?
In theory the nightwell evolved those highborne into nightborne, which is meant to be a stand alone different race. But with the playable models you cant really tell. The NPC models do the idea a lot more justice
All of you so called elves were trolls once .

I could be wrong but do any other races actually go by highborne?
Sure there are high elves but thats a different name. its derivative but so is nightborne from highborne
Same with the void elves, they have evolved into new species of elves, but they got to have right to call themselves a Highelf.
Its not fully clear in lore how far their transformation goes. Such as if they have a child, will they be high elf or void elf?
We know that nightborne have nightborne children.
Also with void elves its been like a year vs nightbornes 10000 years. I think theyre allowed a transition period
I think only the Nelf mages are called Highborne as they went through no physiological changes.

If to judge by the player modesl we haven’t evolved much as well…
Blizzard did the nightborne dirty with their playable model
The Nightborne don’t believe they’re Highborne. They believe they have transcended above the Highborne, they believe they are better than the Highborne and entire different morph. It’d be really weird to see a Nightborne claim to be Highborne. Also they evolved physically from the Highborne just like the High Elfs.
Wrong. Night Elves don’t claim to be Highborne, thus Kal’Dorei and not Quel’dorei. The remaining Highborne (the only official group that still exists, the Shandralar) were exiled from the Kaldorei because they refused to give up on the Arcane. Later, in Cataclysm, they rejoined the Night Elven society.
So, simply, the only officially remaining Highborne are the Night Elf mages.
Whatever delulus want to call their Nightborne, may do so, doesn’t change the facts sadly
Also, side note, unlike the Nightborne, the Night Elf appearance didn’t evolve. See the current Highborne leader in Darnassus: Mordent Evenshade
Is there any way to block the person above it just irritates me.
