The Jailer and Yogg-Saron have a lot in common, with Yogg-Saron calling himself “The God of Death” and everything, and Icecrown Citadel (The gateway to the Shadowlands) is even made out of his own blood!
And remember when Yogg-Saron said “No king rules forever” during his own fight, is that referencing Arthas, or the Lich King in general?
There are so many connections between Yogg-Saron and the Shadowlands that I can’t list them all, but I’ll list a couple more.
“All places, all things have souls” - Yogg-Saron, could relate to anima from Shadowlands?
Yogg-Saron is a maw, there is The Maw in Shadowlands, etc. etc.
Any thoughts, or am I crazy?
I think you should join Pyromancer’s tinfoil hat community. You have some connections for sure, but they barely support your take that Yogg Saron, an Old God made by the Void Lords, is serving a guy in a death realm.
That would be strange… But realms are kinda cross-interacting. Arent humans, gnomes and dwarves created by titans? Arent titans from realm or order by any chance? Why can we be Paladins? Shadow Priests? Death Knights? Druids? We belong to certain realm as well~
Ahh… And Sargeras that joined chaos realm as titan! If titans can be corruped and whatever then old god can be death-forged or whatever as well
Entire lore is strange and mostly unknown with Blizzard retconning stuff to fit their current plot
From what we’ve beentold the Shadowlands predate the Titans so probably predate the Old Gods ‘landing’ on Azeroth.
The whole Shadowlands make no sense:
Azeroth is effectively an egg but it has and afterlife.
Most races on Azeroth have been born due to the curse of flesh so why would they go to the afterlife.
We’ll probably find out the Titans or Old Gods made the trolls as the answer to every question seems to be intelligent design.
Shadowlands feels like sloppy lore. But it could be enjoyable.
probably noone was thinking about it! I wasn’t! Why we have souls if we were machines cursed to flesh? Maybe mechacreatures were powered by souls?
What if Titans stealed souls from Shafowlands to power their constructs?
Current gnomes and dwarves were created by the watchers and Yogg Saron’s curse of flesh. Humans are miss births of Vrykul which are created by the same sources as gnomes and dwarves. They’re not 100% titan creatures anymore and more independent mortals now.
If you have spare time consider watching this. There are some theory about the jailer identity from the most common guesses to the ultragiga tinfoil one
I really feel like there are too many connections for this to be unintentional. I forgot to mention that after Yogg-Saron says “No king rules forever” he says “Only death is eternal”. This has to be intentional!
I mean, do old gods have a will of their own? Could one side with a different force secretly if they thought it was more powerful or effective? I don’t, know, but it seems like the case?
Blizzard stated the The Jailer is a new entity and it will likely predate the Old gods and the Titans so to have any connection is unlikely and click bait.
[A repeat of a post i had already made a while ago.]
When they drop those quotes there’s probably not actual planed out. They probably pick them up years later and pretend they meant that.
Jailer is some entity bound to Azeroth. Azeroth is jail for old gods, old god can’t jail other old gods on titans assignment. So jailer is either some minor titan, titan servant like lokin/odin/raden/etc, or some ‘mysterious’ entity like Elune, it can also be entirely new something, but i highly doubt that.
I personally think jailer is connected to Elune some way or another. Because Elune playing alongside Sylvanas so far, encouraging wars and deaths.
Bound to the SL and SL is not part of Azeroth like that. Whole SL makes no sense really.
No, Old gods were sent to corrupt titans. Theya re carrying out thier job.
That’s an interesting theory. We have not a clue what Elune is.
Nah, I can’t see it.
For the purposes of any story we can’t have Elune smiting down the Horde or the Vindicar making Kalimdor Fried Horde.
So we go with the, why god, why, narrative.
It’s linked to Azeroth
And titans made Azeroth their jail and/or laboratory. to study them You know they are not roaming free but chained and studied by titans servants, all of them.
Look Elune let big good tree burn, all her help was turning tyrande to dark side. Sylvanas calls Azeroth jail because being tied to such place is well below her ambition, imagine what entity empowering her think.
He doesn’t even look like an old god. It’s just a big dude with beard. Not every big bad has to be a character we already know.
It’s Odin, he has more trials for us.
That bas…
